5 out of 5 stars Acoustic love   August 18, 2004

Now, maybe I am a bit biased. OK maybe more than a bit. But this DVD is a must for anyone who claims to be a Hanson fan. It's 21 songs, a short interview and an even shorter trailer of pure Hanson passion and I guarantee you will love it! This live concert shows just how talented these guys are, each taking turns at piano, guitar and percussion instruments. They play all the old songs as well as the new and throw in a few cover versions for good measure, showing off their own muscial influences. If you can stop yourself clapping and finger clicking along to MMMBop and their cover of Little Richard's Rip It Up then let me know. I certainly couldn't!

The first thing you will notice is that this dvd plays in region 1 only so make sure your able to play before you buy!pThe dvd itself is excellent value for money and i highly recommend it! There are 21 songs on here performed live acousticlly on November 11 at Carnierge Hall. This show is the last of Hansons highly successful Acoustic 03 tour. brSongs performed include those from their last 2 albums, current album and a few classic tunes including 'Rip it up' and 'Teach your children'which they cover so brilliantly. These guys are extremely talented and its proved time and time again with every release from them. They just keep gettin stronger and stronger as musicians. pThis dvd also includes a look into the documentery being put together highlighting the making of their awesome new studio album. It shows the struggles and pain the guys went through in the process which took 3 years in the making. brAnother feature of this dvd is an awesome interview with the guys and behind the scenes look of the show itself!. There are some very funny moments in here!!! pSo buy this dvd today!!! See for yourselves at how awesome theses guys are and the talent which shines throughout the music.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing isn't the word.   February 18, 2005

I have never been much of a Hanson fan. I am now. What can I say? having seen this I feel like I've missed out on a great deal not having discovered them earlier.brWho'd have thought such raw talent and musical capability was still being given airtime? They've come a long way since MMMBop, and are now almost unrecognisable, talented, musical young men.brEach one quite obviously has more talent in one limb than there is in the majority of indie/supposedly musical bands around today. Hanson beat them all hands down, never have I been so utterly amazed.brI can't enthuse enough. I think I've watched it at least 800 times since I skeptically borrowed it from a friend. What a discovery. Even those who don't like their music have to appreciate their sheer talent and ability to recreate rock'n'roll like no band can today.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely fantastic!   February 20, 2005

After years of not hearing from this trio, it was reassuring to hear that they were back with a new sound. I bought Underneath Acoustic expecting it to be a little singalong but I got so much more. They sang old and new songs in a brilliant acoustic set... its one of the best concert DVDs I have purchased. Standout tracks include Mmmbob, Runaway Run, Crazy Beautiful and With You In Your Dreams. Isaac, Taylor and Zac are friendly and charismatic throughout the show and there is a little "Behind The Scenes" featurette which makes you give a little chuckle. Hats off to the guys, they have proven that they can go from teeny boppers to rockers, this DVD will not disappoint!

I bought this in the city is was filmed, sadly missing the performance itself in Chicago, at the House of Blues. Watching the DVD only made me regret going more, its fantastic. Surprising highlights from little known earlier tracks such as 'With You in Your Dreams' from the first album, and 'River' from the 3 Car Garage EP, and an excellent cover of Crosby, Stills, Nash Young's 'Teach Your Children'. The tracks you'd expect to see are there, mostly from the new album. I was almost dissapointed to see Mmm Bop listed on the back cover, but to be fair, they do get the crowd going for it. Great stuff, a fine addition to their current material.
