Smith (Blackpool, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful One of those films that has had umpteen titles whose 'star' doesn't actually feature that often. Don't let that put you off, though. I have read elsewhere on the web that Scorsese picked up Pesci another of his reliables from this little effort, and you can see why. br / br /This is a gritty piece of seventies mob violence. I'm not a major expert on that period, but I suspect this one would be remembered well if it had had a better budget for better filmstock, etc. The story is a gruelling one about a fairly immoral guy who collects protection money in any way necessary, and the entire ensemble plays well in the telling of a story that knows its own limits and works with them.
