Customer Reviews: Compelling Back Story April 21, 2009 Martyn Davies RKO 281 tells the story of the making of Citizen Kane. I stumbled across this (made for TV) movie on the TV one night and couldn't take my eyes off it; I knew that I had to find the DVD. br / br /If you know the movie Citizen Kane, it's fascinating to see this flipside, of how media mogul William Randolph Hurst (the prototype for Kane) tried to stop the movie being made. Liev Schreiber really summons up the spirit of the young Orson Welles as he struggles to make his masterpiece. br / br /When you're done with that and want to hear more about Hearst, it's well worth taking a peek at "The Cats Meow" too.
