Editorial Reviews:

Jennifer Garner glows like a rising star in i13 Going on 30/i, a girly version of the Tom Hanks classic iBig/i. Jenna (Garner, iAlias/i, iDaredevil/i), a frustrated teenage girl, just wants to skip past all those annoying adolescent years and arrive at a glamorous adulthood--and thanks to some inexplicable wishing dust, she does. But once she re-orients herself to a life as a high-end magazine editor with a sports-star boyfriend, she discovers that in the 17 years she skipped she became a not-so-nice person, including casting aside her best friend Matt (played as an adult by Mark Ruffalo, iEternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind/i). There's no question that Jenna will rediscover her lost innocence, but Garner rises above the lack of suspense. i13 Going on 30/i floats along, buoyed by her goofy sweetness. Her lovely looks are made accessible by her unfettered silliness; it's a winning combination. i--Bret Fetzer/i

i absolutely love this film. There is something about it that makes me tingle. It's great and I just can't get enough of the 80's songs. I think Jenifer Garner played the part just right getting the habits of a 13 year old girl spot on.

I just watched this movie and I wasn't expecting too much from it, as there are a lot of mediocre romcoms out there at the moment, but this was a wonderful surprise! It's actually quite funny and ever so romantic, I love it! It's also got a fab soundtrack - infact, that's why I came on amazon just now, to check if they sell a soundtrack! This is a real feel-good movie, with a reeeeeally nice loveable leading man, which always helps! If you like romcoms and/or niiice men, do yourself a favour and buy this! It really is brilliant fun!

5 out of 5 stars Best Chickflick ever - Jennifer Garner is amazing   November 29, 2004

Jennifer Garner has always been known as a bit of an action herione, her vunerable but kick-ass persona in televisions best show, "Alias", saw to that.pShes currently American television's new Jennifer Aniston; filling the undeniable void left when all the big stars of tv retired from their popular shows this year. In the Uk, she was previously an unknown to all but the die hard core of Alias fans who have been channel hoping to try in vain to keep up with the television show, with some giving up and waiting for the DVD.pAnd then, on her time off from shooting Alias. She goes and does this.p"13 Going on 30" is the one film that shows Jennifer Garner is far, far more than just an Action actress. The global $100m surprise hit which outgrossed all expectations in the UK had a run that reflected amazing word of mouth.pAnd its no surprise. Whilst "13 Going on 30" may transcend to over-sentimental scenes, and the varying secondary characters seem under-developed and for novelty value only. Jennifer Garner takes what could have been a totally mediocre film and wraps it in one of the most memorable performances in recent film history to make a lasting impression in all who watch it.pThe charismatic star puts in a divine performance, shes exhuberant, excitable, cute and sexy all at the same time. And its hugely surprising for the girl who was pulling off "You Should Try asking for my number" Elektra in Daredevil just a year before. But with "13 Going on 30", Miss Garner has established herself already as a comedic anchor more capibible than her mega salary rivals like Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz.pJulia Roberts can go and be a mom, because Jennifer Garner's already proving shes there to take the throne.

This film is basically the female version of the classic Tom Hanks film "Big"p13 year old girl on her birthday wishes she was 30, she wakes up the next day as a 30 year old woman and in bed with a man. Anyway this is a total classic film which yeah can be described as a little corny but is absolutely adorable and a brilliant love story to it.
