| Customer Reviews: I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! February 25, 2005 Brandie Desso (Saranac, New York) 4 out of 22 found this review helpful
I think the movie Octane is an amazing movie. I love brMischa Barton, and I think Jonathan Rhys Meyers is the hotest man on the face of this earth. And I so wish I was Mischa when there in the car together. Well I hope you learn from this movie, well talk to you people later.
Great Art Movie May 3, 2005 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
This was a beautifully shot movie with quite a unique twist to your standard vampire film. Only down point was that it had a very slow start.
Arty road movie November 25, 2007 HJ (Wales, UK) Offbeat thriller with moments bordering on surrealism, rather strange but that's it's strong point, I couldn't take my eyes off it until it finished. I think if it didn't have an actress the standard of Madeleine Stowe it could have failed miserably, that's not to say the other actors are no good but she is the lead actor so was going to make or break the film. Reminded me a bit of The Machinist, similar unsettling hypnotic intensity. Jonathan Rhys-Meyers does a pretty good American accent.
Avoid at all costs November 21, 2005 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
I liked the title of this film, so I rented it from Amazon, but it was appalling - I don#x27;t understand how the other two reviews could say anything positive. It#x27;s poorly shot in uninteresting scenes (most of them in the car!). The acting is appalling - the actors have one expression and one tone of voice each!. After peservering for 45 minutes I was STILL waiting for the plotline to get started and abandoned the film. I tried again to watch it the following day, and fast forwarded, but the end was just as poor. I know Amazon give us great deals on 3 or more DVD#x27;s per month, but don#x27;t waste your time on this one. Sorry.
Octane November 25, 2007 D. Cowan (The U.K.) As someone said...quite dreadful...but nicely shot...as to being described as a vampire film...come off it, absolute nonsense...it had the capabilities,,,but it is clear that the director missed his chances and just had no idea where he was going or what the plot was. it had mood...sometimes...night....but no vampires...if the director learnt anything from watching dawn til dusk he might have had some fire with fangs and great action scenes,,,but this was standard hokum dressed to look impressive...give it a miss.
