classic June 19, 2007 black-syrup 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This film is as good if not better than Pulp Fiction. It may be from the 60s, but it's one of those films where you get drawn into its world from the very first scene, and you're transported into another dimension that doesn't seem to belong to any time-frame. There are no rules or structural cliches that 99.9% of other films insist on conforming to, yet the narrative and overall plot-line is strong throughout. It never gets boring. The central theme of female empowerment and independence doesn't grate like it does with so many other films which focus on that issue. It's just a surreal, high-octane work of genius from start to finish.

br /Definitely in my top 10 films of all time. Although I have to say I've seen five or six subsequent films by Russ Meyer and they were all rubbish.
Bravo, Arrow Films! ...More! More! February 5, 2006 J.D. Guinness (Kelowna, BC, Canada) 12 out of 16 found this review helpful
That larger-than-life classic, "Faster Pussycat...", finally gets the grand DVD treatment it deserves. Pristine picture quality, and such bonuses as a brand new documentary that reunites the Pussycats, PLUS Russ Meyer#x27;s original audio commentary (resurrected from a laserdisc version of the film, circa 1997) this is THE PERFECT TREAT for Russ Meyer fans, thanks to the dedicated and talented folks at Arrow Films. I want to buy their entire Russ Meyer collection now, and so will you!
At last, ON DVD!! April 13, 2005 ugroseno (Jakarta, Indonesia) 19 out of 29 found this review helpful
Oh yess.. I waited this for so long, and now I got it in DVD. Wonder it isn't sold in the US. For region reason, I guess.pAbout the DVD, it is Region free, 4:3 full frame scene, mono sound (unfortunatelly), running for about 83 mins, and have some extras: Russ's commentary, the girls's commentary, featurette 'go pussycat go', and trailer reel (faster pussycat kill kill, black snake, mudhoney, vixen, wild gals of the naked west, supervixen, beneath the valley of the ultra vixen, cherry harry and raquel, common law cabin) pAbout the story. Yes, this is one of Russ's that have "real story". it's has logic sequence, though some conversation are irrational. It tells us about 3 gogo girls who are wild when they're not on the stage. they play rough, rude, full of violent, you can name it. Varla (Tura Satana), the leader of the pack is a "natural born killer" femme fatale. she kill for no reason, just revenge for her unlucky personality. "Baise Moi" girls type? Well, tell yourself. Billie (Lori Williams), the cuty one always hungry for man and narcisstic. the story goes about care race, killing a guy, kidnap his girlfriend, cripple old man and his dumb son. a man save the girl, the pack got furious and killing again. Like all heroes story, the climax is in duel between the villain and the hero.pThanks, Russ... at least you have "real" story. big 5 stars for Faster Pussycat Kill Kill

Oh man! This is so funny. It actually has a real story line for you to pay attention to, if you're not paying attention to thier "deadly" assets. It's great piece of exploitation cinema. It's harmless and fun like a wild ride, albeit very dated and full of that 60's - 70's kitch and camp. It's an histerical film and one of Meyer's best in his whole body of work. If you like his stuff, add it to your collection baby!!
Amazing... January 4, 2008 redmanshouts (liverpool, uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you've not seen it, watch it. An excellent film on all counts. It transports you to another world and you carnt take your eyes of it for a second. Tarantino said he would have loved to make a series of films with Tura Santana 'Varla' and you can see why. She gets what she wants, if not with her karate skills then with her other assets (Tarantino has however made Death Proof and the similarities are there to see). Completely unforgettable film and im not giving anything more away, in fact im going to give it another watch right now...
