Editorial Reviews: Amazon.co.uk Review Will Young's latest 'in concert' DVD ILive in London/I finds the former Exeter Uni politics graduate turned original IPop Idol/I champ and latterday Brit Award winner wooing - rather successfully - the largely female party faithful in the cavernous surroundings of Wembley Arena in December 2004. It's a grand stage for a chap who seems rather like a paragon of old-school British inhibition and no amount of hot 'n' loose sub-Cuban grooving ("Over You"), dance exertion or even an invitation to "Light My Fire" results in the breaking of much sweat from his brow. But you can't help warming to his reluctance. Celebrity for celebrity's sake is - quite possibly - some way down the list on Young's priorities and he's evidently working on his more-than-ample talent. And how refreshing that his musical and dancing entourage - far from being faceless supporting technocrats languishing in the shadows - are utterly and democratically integral to the Will Young live experience. ILive in London/I is also loaded with juicy extras including the videos for "Your Game", "Leave Right Now" and "Friday's Child", interviews and fly-on-the-wall footage of rehearsals, choreography not to mention fooling around in clown's clothing. And the concert itself is brilliant, complete with dancers, and fantastic backdrops!!! brThe Tour was indeed Will at his best, and gave him a chance to shine,at what he does so well-sing!! brFor people who haven't seen him live, this really is an eye opener. It shows just how much he has grown as an artist, and how much he enjoys singing. brAnd for those who have been to see him,this DVD is a must have, as it will bring back many happy memories of a great tour!! It shows how far he has come as a performer and how versitile he is. His aim was to put on a "Show" and give the audience their money's worth but not at the expense of the music. pThe choreography is superb borrowing elements from Bob Fosse - from the seductive Friday's Child opening, the mesmerising Very Kind to the sexy version of Over You.pAnyone who has heard Will live knows he likes to change the way he performs his songs and the versions of his well known hits are amazing on this tour. Never a great fan of Evergreen I think this version is wonderful it has given this song soul. His version of 'I love You More Than You Will Ever Know' demonstrates the power of his voice and how he can captivate a whole arena with a song one wouldn't expect to be performed in such a venue.pThis show and the DVD has been put together with creativity, flair and considerable attention to detail. The Extras are great as they give insight behind the creatiuve process and clearly show how highly the people that work with Will Young think of him. There are some very funny clips including the making of the short films for the Arena screens.pA wonderful DVD for any fan or music lover, especially for those who have not seen him perform since Pop Idol - he has come a long way!
