4 out of 5 stars Surprisingly stylish   October 24, 2005

As a new father I'm getting to see a number of films in the graveyard slots of 1am onwards after watching it for the first time I was surprised that this film was scheduled then.brThe film includes a number of stylised robberies with the robbers escaping in a manner of ways, each lovingly filmed with the action showing off improbable moves. The team get dragged into a collision with the mob when one of the heists includes $20 million of bearer bonds the mob were having transported. Throw in a rogue cop the film keeps your interest throughout. Certainly worth watching/renting, worth buying if you like this sort of thing. Comes up well if compared films like the original french film Taxi ( infinitely better than the woeful "comedy" remake with Queen Latifah)

4 out of 5 stars Steal - its a shame it was so short   February 22, 2008
Brian Carson (London UK)
A gang of four thieves rob a bank and use roller blades to escape from the cops. This is the first of several daring robberies they have planned - the second involving an armoured car and an underwater escape. When they pull that off they find that, not only do they get the cash they wanted but they have also stolen millions worth of bonds. br / br / Things look good for everyone as they know they will at least be able to get half their value through a shifty broker; meanwhile though they not only have to cope with the cops but also some other groups that want the gang for other reasons. br / br /The Stunts are great its a shame it was so short

4 out of 5 stars Nice film, shame about the extras   February 20, 2009
lovingboth (London, UK)
Yes, this is rather good: short and sweet. br / br /Pity the same could not be said about the extras, which are short and awful! br / br /Here we have a film where it'd be very interesting to see how several of the stunts were done - I think at least one sequence is CGI, but the skating leap featured heavily on the trailers looks real to me. br / br /But the 'making of' shows only the tedium of film making: someone took along a video camera to the shoot and shot the director looking at the video monitor and nodding, then talking (very quietly, and in French) to someone. Then they shot the actors having make up touched up. Then they shot them from behind while acting etc etc etc. Having seen it, I can say that the helicopter in one chase really was there, and she was standing on a platform while 'climbing', but nothing at all about any of the other stunts. br / br /The featurette is also a waste of space: a few minutes of the stars saying it will be a great picture and they're honoured to work with such a fine director and crew and... br / br /Fortunately the film is much better.
