4 out of 5 stars Strange Planet   June 2, 2005

I was attracted to this one when I saw Naomi Watts and Claudia Karvan billed. Naomi Watts has been in some top movies recently and also has been good in everything I have seen her in. Similarly even though Claudia Karvan is hardly a household name what I have seen her in I've really liked. For me it helps that it is an Aussie movie, I love the way their minds work and find their movies more interesting than many formulaic "Hollywood" movies. So I'd never heard of the movie but thought it worth giving it a go and it was great! pReally easy watching, calling it a chick flick is probably realistic but doesn't do it justice. It is definitely one to curl up on the sofa with a glass of wine, but it is a good movie, I've recommended it to a couple of friends. None of the guys are what I would consider drop dead gorgeous, they are more like "real" people, if in a slightly screwed up fashion! The women are great, if you met them at a party you know you were at a good fun party! Certainly worth an hour and a half of your life.
