5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT COMEDY FULL OF ADVENTURE THAT WILL LEAVE YOU CRAZY   October 8, 2005

What more can be said about this film but brilliant, four mental patients go on a field trip with their doctor to a baseball game. Only when the doctor goes missing they must go on the run and rescue him from a pair of crooked cops. pBilly (Michael Keaton) is a patient that is a pathological liar with a violent streak. Henry (Christopher Lloyd) a neat freak, Jack (Peter Boyle) a former advertising executive who thinks he's Christ. and Albert (Stephen Furst) a near catatonic couch potato. pA great movie and certainly worth sitting through an 1 hour and 48 mins for. Great comedy a real classic a movie which shows how a comedy is meant to be done.

5 out of 5 stars The best comedy of the 1980's   June 25, 2007

This is comedy at its best, and also has that 80's feel,a good story, specific to comedies until the 90's when they started to rarely have an interesting one.Four mental patients suddenly find themselves alone on the run in the Big Apple and "better get sane real goddamn fast" , as they are being accused of attacking their psychiatrist -what a great premise for a comedy.Michael Keaton was born for this part, the "mental patient with a history of violence".Peter Boyle is also great as an ad executive who believes Jesus is speaking to him, Lloyd and Furst are also great.Combined with the great dialog, delivers one of the best comedies made in the 80's. br / br /Memorable quote:"Ah, it's great to be young and insane!"

5 out of 5 stars Sounds mental; but it's so funny! Get some therapy...   August 17, 2006

What a great film... I laughed over and over... even my Mother-In-Law liked it! br /The prospect of a film following four mental patients on a field trip with their doctor doesn't sound attractive. The quality of the actors and the script far outweigh any pre-conception of this and deliver smiles, chuckles and guffaws solidly throughout the film. br /I'm sure that you'll recognise elements of the characters and be pleased by the way in which the film unfolds to develop them and their situation. br /I'm so glad that I found a copy; it's comedic therapy...
