CHRISTMAS MAGIC November 22, 2005 7 out of 12 found this review helpful
I caught this on Hallmark Channel last christmas and have been looking to buy the DVD since. This is just fluffy musical fun starring a host of famous faces and some cracking songs. It is truly one of those DVD#x27;s to curl up on Christmas Eve with whilst you wrap the remainder of those xmas pressies. A real gem and not to be missed.

This is my fourth favourite Xmas Carol. Each DVD of the movie is different and it is fun evertime I play them. If they make new Scrooge DVD's I would be the first to buy them.
I loved it November 8, 2008 Hannah Tindall I'm a big fan of Alan Menken and he does not fall below my expectations here!! What incredible music which really brings the story to life. Good cast, good singers... what a version!

br /I've been brought up on a Christmas Carol and this one brings so much to life. I absolutely loved it, worth a watch any time!!
Depends on what you're looking for... December 28, 2008 S. KERSHAW (England) This film seems to have really polarised opinion. It is light-hearted, schmaltzy, glitzy and yes with over-acting throughout. However, that sounds like what Xmas is about to me and I think if you're looking for a deep and meaningful film with a soundtrack from Lennon-McCartney, or even Benny and Bjorn, you will be disappointed - but if you just want some light entertainment (without over-analysing it) to just sit and watch together with the family, served with a large helping of 'cheese', then this is worth it for you.
OK But there is better December 27, 2006 Mr. K. W. Bailey (UK) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This version is pretty good if you love musicals, if not don't bother, although Kelsey Grammer plays a reasonable good part, the story relies to much on the music and not enough on the story. If you want a real good Scrooge, them go for Alastair Sim, The definative and the best Scrooge by a good mile, but saying this, if you want a more up to date version of the Christmas Carol, George C Scott and Patrick Stewart also make a convincing Scrooge.
