3 out of 5 stars Not as bad as other reviewers suggest   June 5, 2009

I got this DVD as part of a boxed set of Lance Armstrong DVDs - I had bought the set for one of the other DVDs and having seen the other Amazon reviews of this particular DVD had assumed I wouldn't like it. Actually it wasn't that bad. Unlike the other Armstrong DVDs I have seen which are mainly just clips of his Tour de France victories (and therefore not that exciting if you have already watched those Tours de France already), this documentary instead focused much more on his life off the bike which I had previously known comparatively little about. I wouldn't say I am a massive Armstrong fan (though I respect his Tour victories) but I did find this worth watching - particularly the parts dealing with his earlier life and his battle with Cancer. Also I didn't find it as sycophantic as one reviewer suggested. I wouldn't pay the full recommended retail price for this given that it is only about 45 minutes long but this is worth a watch particularly if you can pick it up for a more realistic price. I think the one star reviews are a bit OTT frankly.

1 out of 5 stars mediocre doco#x27; about an exceptional man   February 4, 2006

This is a pretty basic documentary about Lance, complete with a cheesy sound track, over dramatised commentary and some exceptionally tacky editing.

1 out of 5 stars terrible, cheap...   February 12, 2006

Truely terrible. A low budget collection of clips, stills and interviews with friends and family. There are only about six cycling clips that are used over and over again, and the clips have little or nothing to do with the narration... An absolute waste of money, even for a die-hard Lance fan.
