Amazon.co.uk Review The teaming of Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that IThe Dukes of Hazzard/I will be even more lowbrow than the show that inspired it. P However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke and his cousin Bo are frequently upstaged by the General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse, played by Willie Nelson. P Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke--Jessica Simpson--is reliably available to model her short-shorts and awesome figure, while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg--Burt Reynolds, who should know better--recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. P Director Jay Chandrasekhar, previously behind ISuper Troopers/I manages to mine some good-natured humour from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players. Otherwise, consider yourself warned: IThe Dukes of Hazzard/I is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. --IJeff Shannon/I

Truly Hilarious film! July 11, 2006 Aj Hendley Jnr (England, UK) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
On my first watch of the film I wasn't expecting much as I thought Jessica Simpson acting would be something to never witness. Strangly though Simpson is actually quite effective as well as easy on the eyes. This low expectation of the film may have been the reaosn why I enjoyed it so much. I never saw the original myself and I have also never seen the TV series. I had nothing to compare it to and no anticipation which means I wasn't set up to be disapointed.

br /If you like comedy films and you are a fan of Seann William Scott's movies then you will enjoy this. It has some great moments and I thought it was extremely funny as well as action packed.

br /I recommend to the fans of the series that you just take the film as it is. It's a modern take on an old story, they are not aiming to surpass it and they could never equal it in the eyes of the fans. Watch this movie with no prior expectations and you will love it. There was no way that a modern film could live up to the series.

br /If you like comedy films then I suggest you add this to your collection as it's funny and action packed. The soundtrack is also brilliant.

Moonshine anyone? December 8, 2005 Smart Fan (Kent, UK) 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
Even though i havn#x27;t seen the original tv series, i really enjoyed this film. Johnny Knoxville is funny as ever. Jessica Simpson was perfectly cast as Daisy. But not a good choice choosing Sean William Scott as the other brother. But the film does really well with the plot, not to mention the great, new-style car chases involving the great old #x27;GENERAL LEE#x27; Dodge Charger. Great, entertaining film.
Good ole boy fun film January 16, 2006 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
What you cannot remember the days of Bo and Luke Duke in the Dukes of Hazzard on the TV, or you were not around then, well that is a great shame it was a fun series, but fear not watch this movie and you are very damn close to watching the original, the only thing missing from the original I can see is the silly laugh from Rosco P Coltrane, all the rest is there, The General Lee (the Dukes car and star of the film) Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) providing the eye candy, Bo Duke (Seann Willaim Scott) the womanizer, Luke Duke (Johnny Knoxville) the racing fanatic all trying to outrun Sheriff Rosco P Coltrane (M.C Gainey)and Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds a change for Burt to be the chasee and not the chased)and Deputy Enos Strate (Micheal Weston), in what is an action packed, chase filled movie that will satisfy any action seeking movie goer. The humour is good too if you ignore the bad jokes from Uncle Jessie (Willy Nelson). Watch out for a very good performance from Kevin Heffernan who plays the characters of #x27;Sheev#x27; the explosives "expert" and also David Koechner who plays the part of #x27;Cooter#x27;the motor mechanic from heaven (rebuilds the General Lee from a battered wreck into a showroom mint condition racer with new engine OVERNIGHT send me his phone number please). All in all a very close recreation of the TV series and a damn fine watch. Enjoy everyone buy this most certainly even if it is just to see the outtakes at the end to see how many cars they wrecked to make the General Lee perform all those stunts.
One of the sexiest films this year! January 9, 2006 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
What can I say but ooooooo! Jessica Simpson shows us all her wonderful figure and leaves little to the imagination. Those legs!! Stunning! There are plenty of other hot girls 2 look out for besides her. pOther than the scenery in this film it is VERY funny. Johnny Knoxville is great alongside Sean William Scott. The scene in the college not only shows us some more FINE girls but very funny to boot.pYou must buy this film, one of the best the year.pThat Jessica Simpson, WOW!
The way comedy should be January 13, 2006 Laura (Leeds, England) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
One of the most genuinely feel good films I can remember seeing for a long time. Both Knoxville and William Scott were perfectly cast, their relationships so believable you could almost think they really are cousins. Tried to watch the original after seeing this, but it just didn#x27;t have the same feeling, and I couldn#x27;t get into it. But a Grade A film for anyone who just wants to kick back and have some wholesome fun.
