| Customer Reviews: Obsessive love mixed with tragedy June 13, 2006 Joe (London Uk) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
For the eternally romantic lovers of a tear-jerker, it won't fail to please. Teenage infatuation turns to obsessive love for a young man when indifference arises between him his love's father. However, misguided acts on the young man's part lead to tragedy for all spells doom for his relationship. But this guy doesn't take no for an answer goes to great lengths to rekindle what was lost, resulting in both further love tragedy. It provides interesting insight into two contrasting familys lives; the role of mother-in-law is of particular interest. Recommended.
a romantic classic.......................... April 15, 2007 Marcus Charles Howlett (spain) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one of my favourite ¨romantic¨ movies very well made film by a famous director, still as good to watch now as when it was released in 1981.Get the box of tissues ready on standby.Keep an eye out for early acting performances from ¨Tom Cruise¨ and ¨James Spader¨
br /Great Movie and still a classic!
A Good Eighties Soundtrack October 12, 2000 Joseph J. Brigante (Norwalk, CT United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the soundtrack Lionel Ritchie's Endless Love came from, and if you love the song and the movie, you should purchase this album. You get to hear the song twice, Lionel and Diana singing it on the first track and on the last track. What is great about this soundtrack is that you feel you are right with the film. One reason is because of David In The Institution. We actually here dialogue from the film, with both David, Jade, and Ann talking. Yet, the first minute or two in the song with David speaking does not seem to be in the film. Yet, it is still beautiful to hear. After that dialogue, we here Endless Love again. Just for this, it is worth buying. We also get the instrumental version of Endless Love and the song with Ritchie and Ross, Dreaming of You. But, please note, like many 1980's soundtracks, not ever song you hear in the film is on the soundtrack. In this case, Blondie's Heart of Glass is missing. Other than than that, it is worth having in your collection if you enjoy the song Endless Love and the movie of the same name.
endless love October 22, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I watched this film countless times when i was a teenager, It showed you love at a young age and how you wanted it to be, even to the point of obbession. If it was tranferred to dvd i would buy it for my own daughter.
Adorable! July 14, 2009 Mr. A. J. Ralph (Torquay,England) There was much room for improvement but this is a classic romantic drama.I think it's the kind of love most of us experience. The theme song from the brilliant Lionel Richie is so powerful and it blends well with the tone of the film. The ending just made it confusing though.
