The Man March 24, 2007 Now You Know 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
hi, this is absolutly hilarious. some real witty humour. samuel jackson is on the way to bust an illegal weapons seller when a complete idiot gets caught up in the middle of it and now he has to stay with jackson till the end of the bust. it also has some well filmed action sequences but is a comedy. a great film you won't regret. it is not a cheesy comedy. thanks.
Side-splittingly funny February 15, 2006 O. Doyle (Ireland) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Samuel L Jackson told Opray that he doesn#8217;t #8216;wake up in the morning and think I#8217;m gonna be cool today#8217; but that#8217;s exactly what he does in this film. Jackson is ATF Agent Derrick Vann, an agent being investigated by internal affairs who believe he was involved in the same scheme that got his crooked partner shot. To clear his name and find who killed his partner Vann aims to pose as a gun buyer and sets up a meet in a local diner. But a case of mistaken identity careens Andy Fidler (Eugene Levy) into the middle of Vanns investigation. pIt#8217;s a clich#233;d part but Samuel L Jackson plays the part of the tough Detroit ATF Agent to a tee. Eugene Levy is hysterical by playing a character much like that of Jim#8217;s Dad in American Pie.pIf you#8217;re looking for a good laugh this is the film for you. It won#8217;t win any Oscars but it#8217;ll crack you up!
One guy walks the walk. The other talks and talks! January 18, 2006 Ben HO (Merseyside) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Special Agent Derrick Vann (Jackson) is a man out to get the man who killed his partner but a case of mistaken identity leads him to Andy Fidler (Levy), a salesman with too many questions and a knack of getting in Vann#x27;s way!brThis film is quite funny and has some very clever parts in it. Sam Jackson pulls off another performance, and shows the versatility of his acting, with Eugene Levy lagging behind. Good film to watch with your family/ partner/ on your own, great fun.
Entertaining August 2, 2006 Bazzer (United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The story is a little strange and the characters sometimes rather annoying but what the heck, it's hollywood and this isn't a bad film. Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy are both very clever actors and although this isn't one of their best films they do work well together and there are some funny moments and witty lines. There's no big explosions, no big, bloodthirsty violent scenes but just an entertaining film that will have you chuckling throughout.
not bad but not great January 25, 2006 Mr. T. Shaikh 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
