Its the end of something simple and the beginning of Everything Else June 13, 2006 T. Stewart (Santa Cruz) 65 out of 67 found this review helpful
For anyone on the age bracket of about 18 to 28 years old (give or take a couple years), DAWSON'S CREEK was "the It Show" of our generation. Right from the first episode, there was just something about this magical show that clicked from start to finish. Sure sometimes the character where a little too naive or over educated to be forreal, but there was something about taking an escape into the complete yet relaxing world of these characters. As the audience watched them grow from dou-eyed high school freshmen into educated, sophistica, lifewarn twenty-somethings it is really a magical journey.
br /
br /I personally feel very lucky to know that I spent six years with these character, and while I was a wee bit young to complete experience everything the first time around on television it was through the magic of DVD that I was able to truely experience everything this show had to offer in all its glory. This box set is an awesome testiment to the show and the fans, and I really wish something like this would be available stateside, as I would gladly rebuy the seasons to have them all together.
br /
br /Season 1 of the series introduceds the 'core four' of the series: Dawson Leery (the spoiled-only child with a dream of becoming a filmmaker), Joey Potter (the girl down the creek that you can't help but fall in love with back when katie Holmes was irrestible), Pacey (the bad boy), and Jen (the New York kickout, girl-next door)
br /
br /Season 2 added two additional characters Andy (The overzelous peepy one who would stay in the show throughout high school), and her brother Jack (who will eventually turn out to be gay, and who will stick with the show till the end).
br /
br /Season 3 show the group intering their junior year of high school and a few major relationship changes that show that life does not usually go according to plan.
br /
br /Season 4 is the groups senior year of high school where they are all forced to make major decisions about their future and how they want to live their lives.
br /
br /Season 5 is the groups freshman year of college and is all about the kids dealing with the freedoms and responsibilities of growing up.
br /
br /Season 6, the final season, basically takes off from season 5 but adds to each with each character in some way eventually discovering and persuing their calling.
br /
br /It is also important to note that when the producers decided to end the series durring the six series the network order an additional two episodes for a 'grand finale' that the producers took full advantage of. The series is basically wrap with episode 126 "Joey Potter and the Capeside Redemption," and then the final two episodes "All good things, must come to an end" which serves almost as a reunion movie as it takes place five years after the episode before it and shows what happens to the core members of the group once they go their seperate ways.
Tales from the Creek March 14, 2006 M. Mason (Norwich, UK) 41 out of 43 found this review helpful
In a world obsessed with sex, drugs, violence and corruption, the escape to Dawson#x27;s Creek is a welcome one.brThe sweet naivety of the characters is something to treasure and is something that sets this show apart from most others. On the most basic level, who can complain about watching a show full of attractive people? But looking deeper into the show, it says alot about relationships, with friends, family, girl/boyfriends. Dawson#x27;s Creek definitely makes you think about you own life and circumstances, and on the odd occasion, i#x27;ve taken advice from the show for my own life. All six seasons in one box set is a bit pricey but well worth it, and ultimately cheaper than buying them seperately. From the first season the characters are so endearing you#x27;ll want to follow their journey#x27;s through high school and beyond. For the hardcore fans, this boxset is all the excuse you need to take a week off work and watch every episode, back to back.brThe Box Set is well worth it, Dawson and friends will change you perspective on life forever.
Fantastic Bargain January 13, 2008 Mr. L. N. Taylor (Essex, UK) 39 out of 41 found this review helpful
Great series. This is a 34 disc set and it includes the Season 6 two part series finale.I have no idea why Amazon are advertising this boxset alongside the series finale DVD in their advert (don't make the mistake of buying both!!)A fantastic bargain at under £35, thats under £6 a season. Buy it at this price while you can!
Fantastic! February 7, 2008 Steph (London) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I saw the box set in WHSmith a few weekends ago and thought nope that is too expensive, however much i loved DC it was a bit much £70! Got home and checked out the internet prices and saw £35, oh my god! Bargainous! The box set is fantastic, i'm now in my mid 20's and i watched this through my teens (and after!) and it was so good watching the episodes right from the beginning again. I had not seen the series since it was on tv the first time all those years ago and it was fantastic revisiting the series.

br /I would recommend this box set to anyone and the finale still brings tears to my eyes however many times i watch it!

Its Fab!!!! October 26, 2007 L. Day (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I just love Dawsons Creek, I started watching it about 10 years ago but missed quite a few. I brought this box set last week as I had started watching it again in full on channel 5 but they stopped showing it half way through so I just had a buy it, mainly to try and find out what was going to happen with Joey and Pacey.
br /
br /I think that its such a break from the real world watching this, I almost wish I lived there and still 10 years later I wish that Pacey would come knocking at my door.... anyway, its fab, I love it....
br /
br /I do agree with one of the other reviews, the package is not very good, the cd's are all overlapped, when mine arrived the cd's all fell out when I opened it, I know that there are 34 discs but its still a little poor... But don't let that put you off, its fab and a great price.
