I really enjoy exercising and am always up for a challenging workout. I have been trying to find a DVD that would make me feel as though I have worked all parts of my body and yes this one did. Even though I class myself as being a very fit person this did make me ache the next day and I mean ache, my hamstrings and glutes especially - mind you I did do the fitness test 10 mins, core program workout 45 mins, upper body workout 15 mins and also the lower body workout 15 mins and really did enjoy it all. Great workout, great DVD. Any beginners trying out new exercise DVD's be prepared as this one may not be for you, however it is something to work towards (a disadvantage for beginners would be that there is not really anyone showing an easier version of any of the exercise).

I wanted to do a more advance level of hips bums and thighs that my gym could offer within the comfort of my home. I also wanted something which I can do in front of the telly without hitting the lamp and table. This is it and more! I stumbled across through amazon (as you do with most things) and pretty much got what I wanted.

br /The pros of the DVD:
br /i) he talks to you and instruct you what to do
br /ii) it's not ultra-speed lightning so you can actually follow
br /iii) there's a gradual build up - so if you like me, a bit slow - then you can gradually build it up doing the fitness test and pre-core programme
br /iv) you can feel the muscle working and also your heart pumping which delivers both cardio-tone which are essential for fat burning and body sculpting
br /v)there are plenty of exercises and different ones - very sensible and no nonsensical ones like some other fitness DVD
br /vi)the level of challenge varies but for someone like me who has low to moderate level of fitness after doing a week of his DVD I can actually do some push up (Hurrah!) Therefore, if persevere you can actually get there albeit slow.
br /
br /the cons of the DVD:
br /i) if you are super unfit it will demotivate you almost immediately
br /ii) if you have knee problems like me - david uses quite a bit of lunge, some of the exercises may cause more damage. However, you can opt not to do those lunges or modify the exercises to your ability.
br /iii) stability ball - just make sure you get used to them first before attempting to do some of the exercises. Visits to AE can be avoided if you practice using them beforehand

br /That's it. So far I manage to convert two other friends to get this DVD. Try it. Well worth it!

br /PS Don't forget to get a medicine ball (mine is 2kg), a stability ball (mine is 65 cm and I am 165cm) and a pair of light handweights (mine is 1.5 kgs)

"Get ready to sweat". Never have I been so compelled to write a review on any product like I do on the David Kirsch's New York Body Plan. It is by far the best workout I have ever encountered. It is by no means easy; it is challenging and you need a lot of determination and focus to stick with it. But if you're really serious about transforming your body, and I don't mean just getting in shape, this is the workout you need to do. I have been doing the NY Body Plan for seven months now and my body has never looked better. My arms, shoulders and legs are sculpted and toned, my abs are tight and my bottom has been lifted.

br /There are several parts to this DVD:
br /
br /Fitness Test: Here you will get to do a series of ten strength, movement and co-ordination exercises; and if you feel that you struggled here then you will need to do the Pre-core program which is a mini version of the Core Program. You will do this for two weeks, four times a week to increase your fitness level and to get ready for the Core Program.
br /
br /Core Program: is a 45 mins of cardio vascular, strength and coordination moves.
br /
br /Upper Body and Abs: 15 mins
br /
br /Lower Body and Butt: 15 mins
br /
br /These workouts are designed to address problem areas and are meant to be done in alternating days with the Core Program.
br /
br /You will need a stability ball, a medicine ball (mine is 1 kg), two light-weight dumb bells (I started off with 1 kg then 2 kg, you don't need a lot of weight as it's a low resistance workout). You can purchase these here on Amazon.

br /Initially, I did this workout everyday and I felt tightening and toning of the muscles within days. As there was no two week target for me (I wanted long-term fitness), I was happy to reduce the frequency to four times a week. On the days I'm not doing this DVD, I do Billy Blank's Tae Bo which is a great workout. If you're considering it, get his Ultimate Collection as it's by far his best. Second best is his new Get Celebrity Fit Cardio; it's so much fun.

br /This is David's first DVD I brought a year and a half ago.. I cannot leave the house without doing the Core Program 45min workout! It makes me feel like a supermodel! My whole body top to toe is defined and sculpted all thanks to david and his protein shakes and vitamin drinks! if you are a beginer with David, Start with his Pre-Core Program and build up to the Core program, you'll soon be used to his challenging workouts. Results you will see in 2 days, Yes, its that amazing! You will feel like a goddess, You men, Will feel irrestible! It is a unisex workout.

This is a program for people who take their fitness seriously. I have used several dvd programs over the past few years, and I would regard this as the most challenging I have come across so far.

br /If you haven't used a David Kirsch program before, be aware he uses signature moves - usually basic moves, with bells on basically. I would advise you watch the program through first.
br /
br /This program comprises several parts. The pre core program and core program are essentially cardio sculpting pieces. He uses a combination of impact moves such as jumping jacks (so be aware if you have problems with any of your joints, or are prone to stress fractures as I am), with strength exercises such as lunges, push ups etc. He also uses shadow boxing routines with light dumbells. The use of the stability ball is key - and makes many of the exercises extremely challenging - especially the plank movements. The pace is quite relentless, and you will have a sense of achievement if you get through it.
br /
br /The fitness test will give you a good indication as to whether you should go straight into the core program or build up with the pre core program first.
br /
br /The two supplementary workouts, - upper and lower body - are designed to be used alternately with the core program. These exercises are pretty advanced, but you definately will get results quickly.
br /
br /This is not a program for beginners - if you are a beginner, I would advise using his one on one programs first, as they introduce you quite well to the moves he uses.
br /
br /A very, very good program for intermediate exercisers. And it will make you feel an awful lot better once you've done it....
