5 out of 5 stars The story of a one pig town   January 29, 2006

This is a cute movie and holds your attention. Speaking about attention, I'm not saying that Julie Warner is like Hedy Lamar; but they both where the same suit when they come out of the water (birthday.) And George Hamilton plays a similar character as he does in "8 Heads in a Duffel Bag" (1997). I am glad it is not one of those letterbox (have to look at the black lines) pictures. They are ok but distracting when not necessary. br / br /Dr. Benjamin Stone is on his way to try out for a new job as a high paid plastic surgeon. Due to impedance in the road, he is forced to detour through a local fence. The fence just happened to be owned by the judge. When the judge finds out that Ben Stone is a doctor, he requires Ben to pay with community service and the story snowballs from there. br / br /Will Ben stay in the one pig town or will he finally move on to the big city? br / br /This is a cute movie with many twists and turns. br / br / br /

There's a very moral story in this film. It pulls on a few heart strings and lets you see a certain side of society. Look through the money making body sculpture world of medicine and read the basic moral undertone applicable to all walks of life. On the whole, an enjoyable, believable storyline. For the price, you should buy this DVD.

4 out of 5 stars Feel good movie I kick myself for liking so much!!   January 9, 2008

As a usually emotionally constipated UK resident, film viewer, I should sneer at the marshmallow sentiments, home spun morality, and all round apple pie consistency of this Capra'esque story ....... but I love it! br / br /Michael J Fox is just so likeable, that it is difficult not to root for him, and Julie Warner is not just a simpering local girl who is destined to end up with an essentially decent but uninspiring local guy. The early scenes remind me of Northern Exposure (buy this it's great!) and the odd ball characters all have a back story. However, essentially it is a boy meets girl, boy and girl are attracted, boy leaves girl, and then comes back. It's no Annie Hall, but hey we all need comfort films now and again!

Mr. D. W. Lord
A mild comedy, enjoyable for the actors in depth, Michael J Fox is fine with Julie Warner a beautiful leading lady, and David Ogden Stiers, enjoyable and I think underrated.
