Amazon.co.uk Review
Manic energy and an agreeable level of comic insanity turn IJust Friends/I into the kind of brainless comedy you can enjoy as a modest guilty pleasure. If you liked director Roger Kumble's previous comedy IThe Sweetest Thing/I (and let's face it, that movie had some Ireally/I funny moments), chances are you'll get at least a few solid belly-laughs from this not-so-high-concept premise, in which a formerly fat high-schooler named Chris (Ryan Reynolds) is transformed, ten years later, into a womanizing music executive with a high-profile client (Anna Faris) in the Britney Spears/Christina Aguilera mold. P As it zips along with some broad-stroked slapstick and snappy one-liners, the screenplay by Adam Tex Davis contrives to reunite Chris with Jamie (Amy Smart), the former cheerleader who was the great, unrequited love of Chris' miserable high-school life. By his narcissistic logic, he'll seduce her by treating her badly (i.e. she'll want what she thinks she can't have), but he gets unexpected competition in the form of a "Mr. Sensitive" type (Chris Klein, from IAmerican Pie/I), and it's pretty much Hollywood formula from there on, as IJust Friends/I loses momentum without losing its basic appeal. And while Reynolds invests his character with an unexpected degree of emotional nuance, Faris (IScary Movie 3/I) pulls out all the stops, going deliriously over-the-top to maintain her reputation as a rising comedy starlet with a (hopefully) promising future. We're not talking rocket science here, folks... just sit back, take off your thinking cap, and have some fun. --IJeff Shannon/I

this is an amazing film which is pure comedy with a great plot! Its extremely funny and its a unique film which pulls off all its jokes - not like some rom coms when the jokes just aren't funny! Theres some amazing characters in the film which all work together really well. If your into comedies or not, i reccommend that you watch this film, you'll be laughing all the way through!

Two words a guy never wants to hear...Just Friends. But that's what Ryan Reynolds true love says to him on the night of graduation. So now, back in the present day and about 10 stone lighter Ryan Reynolds is working for one of the hottset and biggest popstars around, Ana Farris, who really likes Reynolds. But when Reynolds heads back to his hometown with Farris and meets his one true love again he knows she's the one. But Farris has the hots for Reynolds who is having a hard time trying to keep up with another guy that's soft and a real nancy and winning the heart of Reynolds true love. Love is one big vicious cirle in this crazy, hysterical film. With a really good cast and laughs throughout, this is great fun and a must see for all you guys and girls that have always wanted to be a little more then just friends.

I have now seen Reynolds in a few movies, from the infamous Van Wilder to Blade Trinty, and he actually seemed much too typcast. Now in this movie again he is typcast, but this time with a difference, hes not the lovable rogue or the vampire hunter, hes a man burned by his highschool love. He even has rules about day dates... The people in my opinion who made this movie were obviously from the american pie way of thinking, and the cast even boasts at least one member from that movie. The cast are smart, funny, and sexy. Theres something for everyone... On a personal note i loved the interaction between the brothers, and i dare anyone who has brothers not to find their relationship funny. In short a great funny movie with over the top performances from Anna Faris and Reynolds makes it worth watching again...

this film is amazing, i was expecting an alright film with a few cheap laughs, but it is so much more than that. br /Ryan reynolds stands out the most in this film, he starts of as being the chunky guy who can only get girls to be friends. he then blossoms into a ladies man who can get anyone he wants, but all he wants is his best friend from highschool (amy smart). br /Anna Faris is a musician and beautiful and also is every mans fantasy, apart from his. Her singing is not the best (exactly the same as of scary movie when she plays cindy), but it is vey funny indeed. br /So the main story line is that ryan reynolds works for a big music company trying to get "every mans fantasy" (anna faris) as a client. The problem is that they used to be together and she never seems to let it go. its a love triangle betwwen these 3, which isnt helped by a guy from there old high school (who has now got good looking), who is in love with amy smart. br /This is a very confusing yet enjoyable fim and it is a crime to miss it. BUY IT NOW!!!! br /
