Amazon.co.uk Review
Funnyman Martin Lawrence steps back into the latex fatsuit for IBig Momma's House 2/I, the sequel to one of Lawrence's biggest hits. Malcolm Turner (Lawrence, IBad Boys/I) goes undercover, turning his Big Momma disguise into a nanny for a computer company executive who may be concocting a means to hack into military databases. But that's just a pretense to get Big Momma coping with a perfectionist mom and her three kids, who are all dysfunctional in cute and easily resolved ways. Naturally, Big Momma dispenses life lessons and catches the crooks while Lawrence does his best to milk his fat drag act for cheap laughs. Unfortunately, those cheap laughs never quite pay off; the script is a wastebasket of cliches and clumsy set-ups for gags that never seem worth the effort. The movie desperately wants to appeal to women with cute kids while luring men with a spa visit featuring scantily clad Victoria's Secret models. Even Lawrence's fans will find themselves snoozing through this one. --IBret Fetzer/I

Big Momma is back and she's better than ever before! Martin Lawrence steps back into the fat suit and seems to have prefected his role as Big Momma. At times I even forgot that I was watching a man dressed up as a woman and not the real deal. I was a great fan of the first film and I was unsure weather or not this sequel could live upto the legacy of it's predecessor. Fear not as it does, despite only being a PG it is a great deal funnier. I have heard alot of people say negetive points about this film, but I disagree with them all. It is a comedy and is not meant to be took seriously. Big Momma's House 2 seems to be more of a family film, but saying that there are elements that will appeal to all ages. They was not one scene in the film that I found distasteful or lame and I thought that the cheerleader scene at the end of the film was comical and adorable. I pled with you all to give it a chance as I'm sure that you won't be disappointed.

2 out of 5 stars a sequel that has strange effect   March 5, 2007

some will look at my two star rating and say that this is a movie or undisguised crap,in pretty much all ways this is true but at the same time it was a film that was easy to watch, albeit with the usual candy coated sentiments that inevitably reveal themselves, this is a film that is bad but there are some redeeming features, martin lawrence is for the most part interesting to watch, mainly as big momma of course, the over the top housekeeper who is really a fbi agent. br /The film isnt really a film that delivers the laughs and of course its advertised as a comedy so on that basis it fails, however its mildly entertaining and it killed 90 minutes for me without me reaching for the remote and thats not a bad thing, yes this film is every bit worthy of its two stars but dont read too much into that, this film should entertain the kids easily and the adults may well find themselves somewhat entertained, strange, isnt it?

1 out of 5 stars MARTIN LAWRENCE IS NOT FUNNY!   March 3, 2007

Know this and know it well. Martin Lawrence is not funny. I repeat; Martin Lawrence is not funny. He never has been funny and never will be. Pulling stupid faces and and saying "DAAAMMMN!" every other second does not the funny make! Oh! By the way. This is one of the worst films I have ever seen! Amazon really has to introduce a no stars option for films as bad as this.

1 out of 5 stars Oh Dear... Where did the pork chops go...   August 19, 2009

Where to start off with, except oh dear, what kind of food were the producers eating or cooking when they thought of this unfunny sequel. I really loved the first film, but the second, what a flop... br / br /Martin Lawrence returns as the disguise for Big Momma but this time, he must play granny trying to take care of three dysfunctional upper class children while spying on their computer hacker dad for some purpose... br / br /This film really doesn't deliver any of the promised laughter to us as the gags and stunts are mostly unfunny and just an utter flop that fails to the core. It'll probably kill 94 minutes off your life and is not worth watching unless your desperate when trying to rent something out for the family, just don't be surprised when you find your kids on the floor in a deep sleep when the film has finished and the lights come on.
