Amazon.co.uk Review
Bad romantic comedies make you scoff at their absurdity; good ones make you wish your life was that absurd. IJust Like Heaven/I is just smart and likable enough to trigger that wishing. David (Mark Ruffalo, ICollateral/I, IYou Can Count On Me/I) finds an amazing apartment in San Francisco--only to discover it's haunted by the spirit of the previous tenant, an overachieving doctor named Elizabeth (Reese Witherspoon, ILegally Blonde/I, IElection/I). P There's something not quite right about Elizabeth's afterlife; against his better judgement, David agrees to help her investigate her life...but finds himself digging into his own as well. The plot takes a twist that some viewers will see coming, but IJust Like Heaven/I doesn't rely on the surprise alone; the revelation takes the story in a new and just as entertaining direction. Witherspoon and Ruffalo are two of the best romantic leads around, but the surprise is how well their contrasting flavors (perky and moody, respectively) mesh, creating a sparky, engaging chemistry. Also featuring Dina Waters (IFreaky Friday/I), Donal Logue (IThe Tao of Steve/I), Ben Shenkman (IAngels in America/I), and Jon Heder (INapoleon Dynamite/I). Crisply directed by Mark Waters (IMean Girls/I), who carefully keeps the supernatural from getting silly and the romance from getting gooey. --IBret Fetzer/I

Its all there in the title, what a superb film, i saw it at the pictures a couple of times and couldnt wait for its dvd release to watch it again in the comfort of my own where no one could see me laughing and crying at once...the scene where David saves a man withy elizabeths assistance had me in stitches for half an hour! br /The cast were all amazing, but the two leads just stole the show, such great on screen chemistry and a great build up to the fabulous climax!! Truely a film for the ladies or that all important first date..!!.. br /100 percent worth watching, just dont forget the tissues!!

It wasn't my original intention to see this film one Friday night when me and my 17 year old friend decided to go to the cinema- as all other showings were booked. However, I was pleasantly surprised. This film genuinely has it all- good humour, great plot, surprising moments, good characters and some really touching scenes.pAn under-rated hit film. The Ghostbusters homage is pure genius!

I'm usually picky with romantic comedies and was initially sceptical about "Just Like Heaven" when it first came out. It was only when my husband I saw it being played in PC World when we became curious. br /The film did not disappoint, it was well written, funny and touching. The soundtrack was good as well.

I fell in love with this film. I'm a huge reese witherspoon fan as it is, but this film was hardly typical boy meets girl, falls in love, third party gets involved for a twist in plot, they end up together. It raised questions about the after-life and sent out a warning about not wasting life. A funny, sweet, meaningful movie with an entertaining twist.[...]

Just Like Heaven is a great movie - full of twists and turns and the characters are fabulous. There are some simply wonderful one-liners in there. br / br /The basic plot you can read above in the main Amazon review if you want - I won't spoil it here. As a romantic comedy with a ghost twist, it does a good job and is very entertaining. br / br /Reese Witherspoon is great as Elizabeth and turns in a witty and well timed performance, as does her leading man Mark Ruffalo. But the ultimate prize goes to John Heder as the psychic who runs a bookstore who is quite simply very very funny. The whole ensemble piece is tight, pacey and very well done. br / br /Get a nice bottle of wine out, kick your shoes off and indulge yourself in a piece of great entertainment that will keep you laughing (when you're not crying) to the very last frame. Enjoy!
