I absolutely loved this film the advert showed just a small part of how funny this film is, if your a teen you'll love (just don't watch with parents) and if your old then you may get insulted just because your a little narrow minded a must have movie in your collection...get it now

3 out of 5 stars Good for a weekends viewing.   July 31, 2006

I have to say that the trailer for this will probably get your expectations up, which the whole film fails to deliver. A kid who has always filmed everything and anything on a cam joins an advertising company. Following the break-up of his girlfriend his work suffers. He is then told he has the weekend to come up with a successful ad for the firms biggest client or he is fired. Only his brother wants to help him get over his ex girlfriend by getting him laid the same weekend. br /It's quite funny how things seem to go from bad to worse for the main character and the more ever increasing extreme situations he manages to get in due to his brothers help. However it is quite predictable and not quite as funny as some of the other films this compares to like American pie, Van Wilder etc. Good for a rent but try before you buy. 6/10

2 out of 5 stars The long (and boring) film   February 3, 2007

The Long Weekend staring American Pies Chris Klein, is yet another run off the mill, bog standard attempt at a comedy film. There is nothing special about it, and as far as comedies go, I would even say that the quality of the film is well below average. The plot of the movie 'should' work but sadly - for me at least - it doesn't. Basically The Long Weekend, tells the story of two brothers, one of them a small time actor (Chris Klein,) and the other a man who grew up video taping everything (Brendan Fehr.) One of the brothers splits-up with his girl friend so the other brother takes it upon himself to 'help' him, anyway he can. The film only made me passively laugh in a few places while I yawned through the other eighty five or so minutes of boring dialogue and pointless situations. Combine this with the fact that you are shown clips of animal sex every now again (most likely done just to add a few minutes to the running time) makes this distasteful film one to avoid. There are plenty of brilliant comedy films out there but The Long Weekend is most definitely not one of them.

1 out of 5 stars You must avoid this film at ALL COSTS!!   January 2, 2007

This is the single worst film I have ever seen in my life. Completely unfunny with an appalling script, I had to turn it off after a while it was embarrassing. br / br /Don't be fooled by the trailer, this is really awful stuff. The jokes are terribly weak and I honestly can't imagine who would enjoy this film - possibly a 10 year old.
