Although at first I was confused by the language, (Thai), I soon became familiar with the concept and symbology of the film. Once this was achieved I found this to be a very good, thought provoking film.

3 out of 5 stars An Average Hell   August 30, 2006

"Hell" is the story of a group of young people that, after a car crash, end up in Hell. br / br /Hell, it seems, is pretty much like the set of Conan The Barbarian or similar fantasies. Escaping torture at the hands of some barbarian warriors, the group - plagued by in-fighting and their secrets and behaviours from their time alive - try to find a way of rescuing their souls and thus escaping the evil landscape. After one of their number is momentarily brought back to life and reappears briefly on the surgeon's trolley they begin to have hope that they may indeed return to a living state. br / br / Some of the storyboard is a little confusing, threads are picked up and dropped, and the attempt at a twist in the end is a little half-hearted. Overall, though an entertaining idea, the pace and style of the film didn't really do it for me, although the cover of the DVD is nice.

3 out of 5 stars a bit of fun   March 10, 2009

I enjoyed watching this film, but partly because I was not expecting anything spectacular. It's a bit of fun that is good to watch when you want a bit of gore, and imagination. The story is simple, so you don't have to pay too much attention, and it's not that common to see a film set in hell is it? So its something a little different, watch it with an open mind, and let yourself enjoy it, after all, it's available for only a couple o' quid, so why not?

I think Shaggy and Scooby might be more at home in this film - it's the rule-breaking exception to the quality horror coming out of the east that has been groundbreaking. Sadly this is not a great film. It's not a good film. It's not even a film that's so bad it's good. It's just a waste of 88 minutes of your life. br / br /The direction is appalling, the acting is dreadful (it's so bad you don't need to understand the original soundtrack to realise it). br / br /Hell is a red gel filter applied to an abandoned quarry somewhere. The demon guards of hell are overweight guys with ruffled hair and fake teeth in leather lederhosen and a quick daub of red body paint. The effects are astounding in their sheer amateurism - I've not seen anything this shakey since Blakes 7 (and that's doing disservice to Blakes!) br / br /I didn't make it to the end of the film - and I very rarely hit eject on a movie - but this one is a true stinker.
