Customer Reviews: LOVE IT AS MUCH AS I DID WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER September 18, 2009 Mrs. Lisa M. Gale I ordered this film as it was a favourite of mine back in the 80's. Loved it as much this time around. My five year old daughter also loves it and watches it all the time. oh my god October 21, 2007 J. The only negative was the picture quality could have been better, but as it's such an amazing story with the very young SJP you can overlook that. Stuck in the 80's? June 6, 2006 Zoe (Gold Coast, Australia) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful Shallow and sugary storyline a la Molly Ringwald, but the main role is played by a young Sarah Jessica Parker(of "Sex The City" fame)who is delightfully perky in her quest to win a dance contest on television, despite her parents wishes. It's a predictable film, but deserves credit for being so mercilessly upbeat. Worth watching for the comic relief in the form of the 'wacky' best friend, played by a young Helen Hunt(pre-"Mad About You").Look out for the bizarre head gear that she sports in every scene, including some plastic dinosaurs at one stage. No reason is given for the hair adornments, but I guess that they had to make up for the poor storyline somehow. Worth catching this movie with a couple of girlfriends who grew up in the era for some 80's-bashing/reminiscing.
