Amazon.co.uk Review
The combined star power of Vince Vaughn (iWedding Crashers, Swingers/i) and Jennifer Aniston (iBruce Almighty, The Good Girl/i) makes iThe Break-Up/i a high-profile romantic comedy. Gary (Vaughn) and Brooke (Aniston) find that their brittle relationship may have reached the breaking point--but neither is willing to give up the condo they co-own. As their fighting grows increasingly bitter, neither is sure if they're fighting to get out of the relationship or to save it. iThe Break-Up/i is an odd combination of realistic scenes that capture the harsh yet human ways that lovers can hurt each other, and broad comic scenes with a more farcical edge. Both types of scenes are entertaining on their own terms--the movie is never boring--but they don't fully mesh, and as a result it's hard to engage emotionally with either Gary or Brooke. But the sterling supporting cast--including Jon Favreau (iWimbledon/i), Cole Hauser (iThe Cave/i), Joey Lauren Adams (iChasing Amy/i), John Michael Higgins (iA Mighty Wind/i), Justin Long (/iDodgeball/i), Jason Bateman (iArrested Development/i), Vincent D'Onofrio (iHappy Accidents/i), and the ever-delirious Judy Davis (iHusbands and Wives/i)--give every scene they're in a boost of comic energy. An uneven but enjoyable movie that may suffer from viewers having overly high expectations due to Vaughn and Aniston's celebrity. --iBret Fetzer/i

5 out of 5 stars The Break up Jennifer Aniston Vince Vaughn   December 4, 2006

I sat down with anticipation to watch this film. It made me laugh, it made me cry. Its a wonderful film and at times you can really feel what these two are going through. Its not a predictable ending which makes it that much more real to me! Jennifer Anistons brother in the film is absolutely brilliant, my whole family roled up at the family dinner scene near the beginning of the film. Very funny indeed! Also Vince vaughns brothers are well casted! Take it from me, it will take you away from everything for an hour or so, its a very enjoyable film and delivers exactly whats asked of it! This film deserves praise its a scorcher and well worth the investment. Thanks very much to a wonderful cast, story and production! Go for it!

After reading some negative views of this film on Amazon, I felt that I had to write a review as I thought that it was being unfairly underated. As a huge fan of romantic comedies and Jennifer Aniston, as soon as I saw this advertised I really wanted to see it! I'm glad that I did as I felt it had the right comibination of emotion, humour, drama etc and the story was very good and different from any other romantic comedy that I had seen. The ending was also very different from the usual romantic comedy which made it even more worth seeing! If you are a fan of either of the two actors or romantic comedies in general I can guarantee you will enjoy this great movie!

This is a romcom with a difference. we've all had relationships that don't work out as well as we'd hoped and this film sums everything up. It shows you the difference between the ways that guys and girls think and act in a reletionship. A truly heartwarming film that is easy to relate to, though you've got to have experienced this kind of situation to appreciate the humour.

I thought this film was excellent, how anyone above can say that it went wrong bewilds me??? br /I thought Jenny and Vince played there parts brilliantly and the story line was excellent, with a brilliant ending. br /Jennifer Aniston does it for me everytime,i havent seen one film where she fails to disappoint. The women is god,i love her!!! br /When you watch this film from the start you feel that you know whats gonna happen at the end,but after a few several twists and bad moves by Gary(Vaughan)this isnt the case.A brilliant movie i would highly recommend it, if you love a simple film with two great actors in it, get this!!!!Long live the Anis queen!!!

it is easy to follow. funny brillient film , i rented it but i wish i had bought it! it is the best love story film i have ever seen. its a good laugh. it is quite sad at the end but i won't go into that because i don't want to ruin it for you if you fancy seeing it. it is a perfect smash hit film just around the corner from you. watch it now before someone shows off to you they have seen it before you! if you watch it write a review to show people how good it is! ignore the people who say it is a waste of time and money this film is worth every second of viewing please watch it!
