| Customer Reviews: Most Haunted's most tragic tales. September 21, 2007 Mr. L. C. Button During these four live investigations the team are on the trail of several famous or infamous figures from British history. Resident psychic Derek Acorah is also able to recount some compelling and very tragic events from the past. Yvette Fielding is the face of Most Haunted, Phil Wyman is the paranormal investigator and David Bull presents the shows from the MHL Hub. Sceptic and Parasychologist Matthew Smith tries to offer a scientific explanation for the phenomena the team encounter during the investigations. Dr Smith is not the most popular person during these events. It seems the people in the live audiences really do want to believe in the spirit world.

br /In 2003 during Halloween 1400 fans of the show sat in the grounds of Beaulieu Abbey in Hampshire. Before the team even go on air a motion trigger detector goes off in a trigger object room when no one was there. Derek encounters the spirit of a monk who murdered another monk. The murdered monk was poisoned then placed in a lead coffin. Curiously, he received a puncture wound to his skull and a crown was placed on his head.

br /In December 2003 the team visit various locations connected with legendary highwayman Dick Turpin. On Hampstead Heath Derek encounters the spirit of a woman who died on the heath with her baby after she was thrown out of the Inn where she worked as a lady of leisure. He is also aware of a highwayman called John who visits the area. In Epping Forest Derek and the team encounter the spirit of Thomas Morris. This man was shot dead by Turpin in 1737. Derek then senses the presence of Turpin himself. When the team visit York Derek is possessed by the spirit of a hanged criminal. He also encounters the spirits of a man and his wife who were burnt at the stake for their religious beliefs.

br /In February 2004 the team visit Stratford-Upon-Avon to discover any spritual connections with Shakespeare. In The Falstaff Experience Derek is possessed and the noises he makes will either disturb or tickle the viewer. As the team walk through Hall's Croft they experience some interesting light and auditory phenomena and a spoon is thrown past Yvette's shoulder by unseen hands. When the team visit Clopton House Derek is able to tell the story of a young woman who was jilted by her lover and threw herself in the nearby well. All three Clopton sisters met tragic ends.

br /Lastly, the cruel legacy of Witchfinder General, Matthew Hopkins, beckons the team to Essex. The team visit Manningtree in search of spirit activity relate to the area's witch trials. At Seafield Bay Derek experiences a first in his mediumship. It is a mixture of many negative feelings from alot of people who were drowned. In The Thorn Hotel Derek is possessed by a negative male spirit. He then needs to be restrained by most of the crew. When he goes outside he is possessed yet again. Now we know that Derek is a twice-a-night man.

br /These MHL DVDs contain highlights from the events. Those people who watched the events live will know that some of the live footage is not included on these discs. But for those people who missed these events this release is highly recommended.
Enjoyable hokum November 14, 2009 T. Guise (West Midlands, UK) Well Derek is still being introduced, in this MH Live series DVD, as if he is the second coming, and cheered every time (it seems) he breaks wind.
br /
br /Some good historical locations, interesting information given out and the usual 'seems to say a lot but is really saying nothing at all' stuff from Derek Acorah.
br /
br /Amusing to see how David Bull and Richard Felix turn on parapsychologist Matthew Smith as he dares to hint that Derek just might be acting rather than being possessed by a spirit. Richard Felix even asks, indignantly, "why would he do such a thing??" - Errr Earth calling Richard - might be something to do with the fact that it makes Derek a fortune in money to pretend to be possessed? His live theatre shows were a sell out across the country and he's made a mint from his MH stints and books. So there's your answer?
br /
br /The MH live DVD is full of the usual entertaining hokum and should be watched tongue in cheek.
br /
br /Just want to say that Paranormal Investigator, Phil Wyman, is seriously hot, so it's worth getting the DVD. Lol.
