One of my favourite French movies June 19, 2007 P. Bokhorst (Italy) 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
Don't be put off by previous reviews that the movie is sleep inducing - the guy probably was tired or bored with life. This is a beautiful, sweeping movie about coincidences in life (a bit like in Sliding Doors) and how they affect people's lives. It's about love, passion, jealousy and set in Paris - beautifully acted by Bellucci and Bohringer (it helps if you speak French so you understand their acting better) with a beautiful haunting soundtrack. Although it's not always easy to follow, it's actually good that some films make you use your brain. For those who haven't got one, just go back to sleep.
Utterly wonderful July 29, 2007 Raffoboy 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
L'Appartement is fast, complex, sad, heartbreaking, intelligent, heartwarming, funny and unpredictable. Oh, it's also as sexy as hell.
My favourite all time film February 20, 2008 Tonkfan 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is quite simply wonderful.

br /Suspend your disbelief for a couple of hours, transport yourself back a few years to a simpler time before we lived in age of mobile phones, email, blackberries and instant communication, and enjoy.
br /
br /A must for anyone who enjoys beautiful camera work, audacious plots, Paris and Hitchcock. And watching Cassel and Bellcui slowly falling in love in real life as well as in the film adds to its undeniable style and glamour.

br /I've probably seen better, worthier films, but this remains my favourite all time movie. It may have its faults (although I've never found any), but it certainly isn't boring.

br /I have persuaded many people to watch this film, several of whom usually eschew subtitles. At the very least, all of them have enjoyed it and most of them have actually ended up buying it.
Excellence!! June 28, 2009 Cameron Lilley 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow this movie was just brilliant. I've seen plenty of Vince Cassel's and Monica Bellucci's movies but this has got to be the best. There's enough twists and turns in this to keep anyone occupied and an ending that no one saw coming.

br /This film is a gem, not many have seen or heard of it so buy it and spread the word.......its epic.

Intuiging and satisfying May 23, 2007 Sir Jemo (Lancaster UK) 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
French film-making that assumes you're watching and thinking not just stuffing popcorn! Involved plot with rapid twists. Your viewpoint changes and you need to be alert to follow, but if you are, this stylish movie carries you on a great roller coaster. Very watchable. Enjoy it.
