The gorgeous cast and fantastic instrumental soundtrack all add up to the type of film you can watch over and over again. Although predictable, girls all over will be able to relate to the failed relationships and the need for romance which have the characters house swapping from English countryside to L.A and visa versa. Starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black. The perfect Xmas entertainment December 31, 2008 Klaus van Amelrode 2 out of 3 found this review helpful This movie is set at the Xmas and deals with finding love finally.... all is different, but in the end the real issue are all the very same. br / br /It uses too perfection the US - UK differences and this creates lots of comic, but never turing it into ridiculousness. The setting is on one hand a quaint British village and and L.A. mansion. The British side of things is represented by Kate Winslet as Iris Simpkins Jude Law as Graham Simpkins and the US side by Cameron Diaz as Amanda Woods and Jack Black as Miles Dumont. All for portrait their caracters to perfection, but I have to admit that my favorite is Kate Winslet. But one needs to mention Eli Wallach as Arthur Abbott who just performs magnificinetly. br / br /It is a highly entertaining movie, sweet and romantic. It is just the perfect entertainment under the Xmas tree. It is the kind of romantic comedy one has to love. br / br /
