The ghosts (Kyra Sedgwick, Charles Grodin, Alfre Woodard, Tom Sizemore) all have unfinished business in this world before they can move on to the next, and Downey's character agrees to let them inhabit his body while they sort it all out. The appealing cast alone strongly recommends this movie, but Downey's remarkable facility for physical comedy--manifesting the personalities of his supernatural pals as they possess him--is a riot. Elisabeth Shue makes the best of her part as the hero's girlfriend; iLeaving Las Vegas/i was still ahead of her, but one can see her talent straining to get out here. --iTom Keogh/i

Matfen I would really rate this film 4 stars out of 5, yet some joker brought the true rating down and gave it a one star simply because the postal service didnt deliver. Amazon needs to remove these reviews when its not related to the product, as well as people who review stuff which isn't even out yet, based on trailers or demos. ANYWAY, this film is quality, with Downey Jr bein his usual gangsta self, this time as a yuppie who must help some ghosts, who he thought were his childhood imaginary friends, move on. Kind of like Ghost Whisperer, but better. br /Good Premise + Good Cast= Good Film. It actually made me cry during one part of it, and the trials he faces helping the ghosts move on are actually interesting to watch, such as Robert Downey Jr robbing someones house, sing the american national anthem with BB King, and going on a road trip to find the ghosts husband and children. br /To conclude, better family film than most, oh, an Tom Sizemore is pretty gangsta as the ghost of a perverted greaser criminal, conflicted with the other 3 more upright and proper ghosts. Still makes me cry after all these years July 23, 2009 Deborah Shayne (Rome, Italy) I used to watch this film with my son Luca when he was a little boy here in Rome where it was called "Quattro Fantasmi per un Sogno" (Four Ghosts for a Dream in English). I love all the actors in this movie and Robert Downey is fantastic as the principal character who, as a child, was befriended and then abandoned by four ghosts with unresolved issues to conclude before they are able to fly up to heaven. It's a great kid's picture... since there are ghosts, music (Walk Like a Man) and a kid who has ghost playmates and it is a terrific feel-good adult's movie It makes me cry and I'm not a crybaby. See it. DEBSROMA br / Bathed in a glow August 3, 2009 John Eyon (Seattle - USA) After every viewing, bathed in the warmth and optimism of this funny, warm, bittersweet supernatural film, I wonder if it will be recognized in the future as a "timeless classic". That's cuz with each new viewing my appreciation grows. It moves at just the right pace for me -- fast enuf to keep my interest -- yet slow enuf to provide depth and characterizations -- and with absolutely wonderful group of actors to embody them. The music is great.... it is soooo funny....but I bet there wont be a dry eye in the house by the end of the film (girls that is)....This is a particularly lovelly film...and I would recommend it to any audience.....even my teen sons enjoyed this one. If you haven't got a multiregion player this film is worth the wait. The beginning can seem a little slow but it turns into one of the best feel-good movies I've seen.
