Amazon.co.uk Review Freely adapted from Robert Ludlum's 1980 bestseller, iThe Bourne Identity/i starts fast and never slows down. The twisting plot revs up in Zurich, where amnesiac CIA assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), with no memory of his name, profession, or recent activities, recruits a penniless German traveler (iRun Lola Run's/i Franka Potente) to assist in solving the puzzle of his missing identity. While his CIA superior (Chris Cooper) dispatches assassins to kill Bourne and thus cover up his failed mission, Bourne exercises his lethal training to leave a trail of bodies from Switzerland to Paris. Director Doug Liman (iGo/i) infuses Ludlum's intricate plotting with a maverick's eye for character detail, matching breathtaking action with the humourous, thrill-seeking chemistry of Damon and Potente. Previously made as a 1988 TV movie starring Richard Chamberlain, iThe Bourne Identity/i benefits from the sharp talent of rising stars, offering intelligent, crowd-pleasing excitement from start to finish. --iJeff Shannon/i

Similar to James Bond but far,far better. January 26, 2008 sm (Wirral) This is an all action,fast-paced,thriller that has a superb storyline with twists and turns. It's what James Bond should've been. Some great stunts that enhance the film along with superb acting make this film great entertainment.Recommended to all.
Excellent action thriller that will have you longing for more May 19, 2008 Richard Jagdhar (London, England) My aim was to watch all 3 Bourne movies in quick succession. Which I did! This movie sets the pace as a fast, slick action thriller that immerses the viewer straight into the characters world of confusion and intrigue.

br /The story sees Jason Bourne (Damon) waking up with short-term memory loss with fragments of memories being triggered throughout the movie. He sets upon a mission to find out all he can, why his skills are so enhanced to kill, infiltrate and out smart his enemy - whilst trying to come to terms with his memory loss he's being targeted by his employers and law enforcement.

br /The plot is excellent, the acting and fight sequences are first rate, and backed by an complementative score and soundtrack that elevates the tension and excitement. The film is set in numerous locations that flow seamlessly into one another creating a global man-hunt movie.

The Bourne Identity August 1, 2009 Roy Walker (Oxton,Nottingham.UK) What's to tell about this trilogy of films. I've lost count of the times I've seen them. Each time marvelling at the action, stunts and incredible car chases. First rate! However, if you like Bourne and haven't seen Liam Neeson in 'TAKEN' you are in for a treat. Get a copy and sit back.

revamped a genre, with an eye on past greats November 15, 2009 Julius (London) The James Bond franchise had lost its way and become a tired product placement campaign. Enter the Bourne Identity - a pacy straight-down-the-line spy thriller that was believable. Doug Liman does just enough, but no more, to keep the story going while paying multiple hommage to John Frankenheimer and Ronin (just watch both in quick succession). The result is unobtrusive and therefore compelling direction - contrast that with Paul Greengrass who by the Bourne Ultimatum has got handheld camera neurosis and has forgotten about subtlety. Very good indeed
Excelent tosh November 18, 2007 Jay Zee (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Action adventure as it should be. Fast paced and more twists and turns than a politician. Excellent tosh
