`Music and Lyrics' is a pretty standard romantic comedy and seeing Hugh Grant you pretty much know what to expect, bumbling charm and good one liners. This film does have some very funny lines in it, with excellent delivery from Grant and it has some great tongue in cheek comments on both 80's and modern pop music. It's worth watching this film for the opening 80's pop video alone and Hugh Grant is hilarious in 80's garb and showing his dated dance moves. The last twenty minutes or so were a little boring and the ending predictable, but you wouldn't expect too much else from a light hearted comedy. This is 100 minutes of charming chick flick and worth a look if you like that kind of film. It's even not that bad if you're a reluctant boyfriend who's talked in to watching it with a girlfriend or date. Light, cheesy and with some funny moments.
