brilliant fun, for anyone December 26, 2007 Bj Lucas (England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received this as a Christmas gift. To get past the audition stage, you have to guess correctly whether an auditionee got through or not. from then on answering questions to make it from boot camp, through to the live shows and finally the grand final. wicked fun, My brother played along with me and he's not even really a classic x factor fan and enjoyed himself. you'll love it whether you're into X factor, or music in general.
A great quizz Game DVD and a difficult challenge to test your knowledge and luck! November 18, 2007 R. Hallett (UK) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Round 1 : You have to rate the performer do they go through. Easy on the obvious candidates but more difficult on borderline cases. Can you spot the talent?
br /
br /Round 2 :
br /[1] A real test of skill, questions like which year was My Sweet Lord by George Harrison released. 1970, 1971 or 1972 I got that one wrong. Which one is not a member of Jackson 5 from a list of three names.... I got that one wrong twice! Or questions like, you are presented with a 10 second performance by someone from X factor then you are asked from a list of three who sang the original. Can be quite difficult.
br /
br /Round 3:
br /You are allocated a category something like groups or over 25's etc. If you are selected for groups category you will get group related questions. You have to reach Week 10 starting from Week 1 and you only get 5 questions. You get questions rated Easy [1 week], Medium [2 weeks] and hard [3 weeks]. Get question right and you get the next question. Get the question wrong and you are left to the mercy of the judges, and this is decided on a extract from a performance from the series to the public from X factor and then the judge's decision. Based on the decision will be if you stay in the game or voted off.
br /
br /We played as two teems and only got to Week 10 but got the wrong answer and voted off!
br /
br /I image the difficulty gets harder from here. I thoroughly enjoyed the game[s], the games we played lasted for around 20-30 minutes split into two teams/judges but you can go up to four. The game is hard as mentioned before but don't be put off, it's one that you will want to play again on repeated occasions. You will have a advantage
br /if you know some of the previous winners or have some familiarity with the show. Like what is Sharon Osbourne's Dog's name? For me this gets a 5 star rating for quality, long term playability and the fun it produced.
Xcellent November 20, 2007 Mr. W. T. Bourne 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Although I'm not a regular X Factor viewer I found this game pretty easy to use and fun to play. Yes, there are quite a few questions on previous contestants and the judges, but you only need to have half an eye on the papers to have a decent stab at the answers if you're not someone who watches the show every week. I guess it'd be easier for really avid fans of the show, but that makes sense. The general pop knowledge required (much more my thing) was pretty demanding and I felt properly tested.
br /In short, I'd happily play it again with my mates and recommend it to anyone who's an X Factor fan.
Great Fun November 19, 2007 C. Sharp (London) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Like some of the other reviewers, I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of the X Factor, but I have to say I really enjoyed this. I have a friend who's a reviewer who leant me the disc, and I have to say it's probably the slickest DVD game I've ever played.
br /
br /Sticking closely to the format of the show (taking you through the individual rounds to the final), the gameplay was nice and varied with a lot of clips and trivia, both about the show and music in general.
br /
br /Playing this with my young nieces, I really liked the fact that the first 3 rounds get you lives in the grand final, as even though their music knowledge wasn't the best (they are 4 and 8 after all!), it meant that they could be involved all the way to the end - in other games their enjoyment would have ended within 5 minutes, which was most definitely not the case here.
br /
br /All in all, a great family game, which I can't recommend highly enough!
Fabulous Family Fun!! November 21, 2007 laineyf (warwickshire) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The X Factor Interactive DVD Game is fabulous!! It is easy to understand, and easy to play. You don't have to be a terrific fan of the programme to play the game (but it helps if you are) as at each stage there is a help page that you can view. We played it as a family and had great fun!! The questions cover all the previous and current X Factor shows, and the music trivia questions are quite wide-ranging, so there is a good chance for everyone to shine!! I think that this game will be very much sought after for Christmas, and will provide hours of entertainment. I have to say that some of the questions are quite hard and you do need some knowledge of the programme to answer them, and, obviously Simon, Louis Sharon and Dannii have their comments to make (always entertaining!). Get a few friends round, pour the drinks and settle down to some good ol' fun!! It definitely gets full marks from me!
