Fab! October 21, 2007 N. Burrows (Cirencester, England) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
Starts off light hearted, pulling in very real problems and fears that transpire from backpacking tourists - such as the photography of the little girl and the antagonism there. Immedietly Alex (josh duhanmel) and Pru (melissa george) hit it off, the dynamics of the group work really well and the scariest thing of the film i reackon, is that things like this actually can, and do happen. People get robbed, people trust the wrong locals. Okay maybe the cutting up for organs bit isnt going on but its not too far from the plausible truth.
br /In general a very good film, delivers sufficient scares, without being over the top, brilliant script, gorgeous location, and an good looking cast - who spend the whole film in swimming shorts and bikinis! what more can you ask for!
br /Buy it!
Great horror, but what's extreme about this edition? October 9, 2007 S. Asher (Scotland) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
The first reviewer gave such a good rewiew, summing up the movie so well that I'm not going to write a review. What I am going to do is ask anyone who saw the movie at the cinema, what was different? I saw it in the cimema and I didn't notice any difference between the big screen version, and this "Extreme Edition: Never Seen Before In Cinemas".

Horror on a new level October 3, 2007 Horror-lover99 (NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND) 7 out of 17 found this review helpful
br /A group of international tourists seeking
br /fun and adventure in Brazil get a lot more than they bargained for in the suspenseful horror film PARADISE LOST. Written by
br /first-time screenwriter Michael Arlen Ross and directed by John Stockwell (BLUE CRUSH),
br /PARADISE LOST, the first American film to be
br /shot completely in the South American nation, is set in the Brazilian mountains, where Alex (Josh Duhamel); his sister,
br /Bea (Olivia Wilde); and her best friend, Amy (Beau Garrett), are preparing for an eco-tour.
br /But when their bus crashes, they are stranded
br /with a group of locals as well as a handful of other
br /tourists, including Finn (Desmond Askew) and
br /Liam (Max Brown), two Brits looking for fast
br /times and hot women, and Pru (Melissa George),
br /a beautiful Australian traveling on her own who
br /takes an immediate liking to Alex. In the middle
br /of nowhere, they find a little oasis in a
br /surprise sandy bar, where they get
br /to know each other, drinking and
br /dancing until they wake up the next
br /morning, having been drugged and robbed of just
br /about everything, with all remnants of the bar gone.
br /They walk into an unfriendly town, but the only
br /person offering any help at all is Kiko (Agles Steib),
br /who might not exactly be leading them to safety.
br /PARADISE LOST is a well-paced thriller that
br /features brutal torture, violence, and a terrific,
br /breathless underwater chase through some very cool
br /caves. The film also succeeds as an examination of the fear--warranted horror 11/11.

Great suspenseful horror movie! 2 thumbs up! January 27, 2008 Tony I was having second thoughts on purchasing this movie - mostly because of the extreme number of bad reviews. I haven't let bad reviews scare me away so far, so, I ignored them and went ahead anyway, and I'm glad I did.

br /Paradise Lost is a great horror movie that any horror buff will love. It's jam packed with everything, and most importantly has a lot of suspense - which is the key in any horror movie.
br /
br /I won't give away the story for those who haven't seen it. All you need to know is this is a great movie. Not just for renting, purchasing too. There are a lot of intense scenes here that bring a sense of realism to the situation these young tourists are in. Deff a great film to add to your scare collection.
