This is a slightly disappointing disc. The sound is taken from the excellent recording (no longer available) on the l'Oiseau Lyre label. A cast is then assembled in the quire of Gloucester Cathedral to mime along - there are some quite bad moments where the lip-synching is out, and there are shots of instruments playing in the background who are not heard.

br /The sound does not disappoint, but some viewers will be a little confused by the performance being in the glorious acoustic of Gloucester, whilst the sound itself is quite dry.

I agree with J Hutchings. It could have been better accoustically, while the visual side is frankly self-indulgent. I found it best to ignore the picture altogether and enjoy the music.
