Amazon.co.uk Review
Here's a challenge: name one action blockbuster trilogy of the last ten years that's come close to matching the thrills and spills of the IBourne/I movies. Because this reviewer, and many others, can't. There's nothing that runs it even remotely close. P And it's ironic too, given that the franchise kicked off with its weakest instalment. IThe Bourne Identity/I finds the title character (played by Matt Damon) without knowledge of who he is, yet with a whole host of deadly skills, and for two thirds of its running time is a strong and enjoyable action thriller. A muddled last act spoils it slightly, but fortunately, it brought in enough to convince the studio to pony up for a sequel. P What a sequel it is, too. IThe Bourne Supremacy/I is an electric, pulse-pounding second episode, as Bourne this time is forced to confront his identity issues again, after being framed for a murder he didn't commit. It's a compulsive game of cat and mouse with some superb moments, and it leaves you salivating for the concluding chapter. P That came in the shape of IThe Bourne Ultimatum/I, and this proves not only to be a terrific ending to the franchise, it's also the best of the three films. The word relentless barely does it justice, but in terms of direction, staging and draw, it simply has had no big screen blockbuster equal in some years. P The end result is a trilogy that diligently tells a well-structured story, and injects it with fascinating characters, amazing set pieces and immense rewatch value. The IUltimate Bourne Collection/I simply demands to be seen and rewarded. And a fourth chapter wouldn't do any harm, either#133; --ISimon Brew/I

5 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Bourne Box Set   December 4, 2007

Ultimate is definitely the word. Jason Bourne has reinvigorated the action genre, and set the standard for all Hollywood blockbusters. Each Title tells you exactly what you are getting, and most of it will be delivered to your ears and retinas through the medium of Bourne kicking loads of ass, be it in India, France, New York, or anywhere across the globe. br / br /What makes Bourne so great though, is that unlike most fodder that Hollywood usually churns out, the high octane action here actually means something: He regrets his past, and he doesn't wreck havoc unless he has to. Bourne is a tortured soul, trying to find answers. The trilogy of films sees him come to terms with himself, then confront his enemies (usually with something he found lying around in their house), and the demons within himself, whilst the CIA (amongst many others) try to stop him for good. br / br /The Series goes well beyond what is typical of the action genre to deliver a story with a brain, that has a coherent narrative, and a grounded main character. It's a darker and a grittier than anything that has come before it, and Casino Royale is a wonderful example of its already huge influence. Bourne has redefined action cinema, with his fistfights and his car chases. The presence of the man who could not remember his past will be felt long into the future on our cinema screens. br /

5 out of 5 stars 3 Fantastic Films, one great price   November 5, 2007

All 3 of the movies in this set are just superb. br /The story builds into a rich tapastry throughout the trilogy, with many twists and turns to keep you interested. br / br /Watch each movie separately, or all 3 as a whole, it doesn't matter - they are very cleverly made and you will quickly get into the plot regardless of which other parts of the trilogy you have seen before. br /This set would be great as a stocking filler and will easily keep young and old alike entertained on christmas day. br / br /The price is very good, considering the third instalment is £11.98 here on amazon I would much rather purchase this three-in-one set for the additional £8. What a bargin! br / br /Jason Bourne is the thinking mans Bond. These films are much smarter and feel much more real than any Bond film. br / br /Bourne vs Bond? I'll put £10 on Bourne...

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant trilogy   December 16, 2007

You will not find a better value for money trilogy than this. br /To begin, as the trilogy progresses, each movie is better than the one before, and the shortcomings of the Identity are corrected in Supremacy leading to the Perfect Ultimatum. br /The combination of a very convincing Matt Damon playing a secret agent and the brilliant direction by Paul Greengrass makes this a joy to watch. br /The box set contains all the usual additional material and perhaps the most interesting are the deleted scenes that add more depth to the story and the director commentaries. br /Even better you can buy the whole collection for £17 (which is £10 cheaper than the 3 movies separate). br /This will be a number one on the sales this Christmas. br /The only problem is that there will be a forth movie if Tottenham end up in the top five this season! br /I hope not. br /

5 out of 5 stars Best of the Best   December 13, 2007

The Bourne Trilogy is one of, if not THE best three films to come out sinse 2000! one thing films seem to have lost in recent years, is the abilty to watch them over and over again without gettin bored! br / br /yes i know the plot and yes i know the storyline BUT everytime i watch these films im glued! other films like Lucky number sl3vin, The departed and such films with twists just dont have that Re-watchable catchyness to them! br / br /the bourne trilogy literally is hours and hours and hours of film quality that u can watch over and over! br / br /for you familys out there also, there may be death and action but it isn't too gruesome. there isnt any extreme blood and gore that youd see in a horror with more basis on action and bournes journey instead.

Excellent trilogy, each film is better than the previous. The Bourne Ultimatum is the best of the three Bourne films. You can watch them all again and again without getting bored. Matt Damon is brilliant as Jason Bourne. Some reviews have complained about the filming style but i find it makes the films more realistic, that you're actually following the characters and listening in. Would recommend watching them in the order they were made. The Waterloo scenes in Ultimatum were some of the best from the whole trilogy. Great value for money and i'm glad i bought it. There's also loads of great additional material. Hope they make a 4th Bourne film. Comes in a metal DVD case too!
