IRun Fatboy Run/I follows hot on the heels of IHot Fuzz/I, and again finds its star delivering a quality comedy turn, in a film that boasts a good few laughs too. P Directed by IFriends/I star David Schwimmer, IRun Fatboy Run/I casts Pegg as a security guard fed up of being outrun by the people he's supposed to catch. He's also determined to try and prove to his ex-fiancee (Thandie Newton) that he's a changed man, and thus decides to take on the London Marathon, where he'll be up against the new man in her life (Hank Azaria). P Pegg is on good form in IRun Fatboy Run/I, and genuinely delivers a character you want to root for. Yet it's the supporting players who walk off with the plaudits too. Dylan Moran in particular is in great form, as is Harish Patel, while the likes of Thandie Newton, Hank Azaria and David Walliams also turn in good work. P Cleverly knowing not to outstay its welcome, and only occasionally stuttering under the weight of some laboured work behind the camera from Schwimmer, IRun Fatboy Run/I is an easy, quite funny and light on the brain comedy, that helps cement Pegg's growing status as a quality leading actor. I saw it at the cinema and was expecting a reasonable funny film but not on the scale of Shawn of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. I was wrong though as this measures up to both of them very favourably. br / br /OK, in real life, the chances of a slightly overweight man keeping up with an experienced fit marathon runner are zero but I can forgive the writer that as the rest of the film is packed with funny moments and funny characters e.g. his Landlord. br / br /This film is well worth buying and I certainly am. I even look forward to the out-takes as you always et the feeling that the actors have fun making these films. better than fuzz! It was fantastic, everything from the great relationship between dad and son,to the flashes of Dylan Moran's bottom(!)there is something for everyone who enjoys a funny story that doesn't take itself seriously.
