Amazon.co.uk Review It's not easy being an ogre, but Shrek finds it doubly difficult for an ogre like himself to fill in for a king when his father-in-law King Harold of Far, Far Away falls ill in this third iShrek movie/i. Shrek's attempts to fulfill his kingly duties play like a blooper reel, with boat christenings and knighting ceremonies gone terribly wrong, and to say that Shrek (Mike Myers) is insecure about his new role is a gross understatement. When King Harold (John Cleese) passes away, Shrek sets out with Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss-in-Boots (Antonio Banderas) to find Arthur (Justin Timberlake), the only heir in line for the throne besides himself. Just as Shrek sets sail to find Artie (as Arthur is more commonly known), Fiona (Cameron Diaz) shocks Shrek with the news that she's pregnant. Soon after, Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) sends Captain Hook (Ian McShane) in pursuit of Shrek and imprisons Fiona and her fellow Princesses as part of his plan to install himself as King of Far, Far Away. Shrek finds an awkward Artie jousting with his high school classmate Lancelot (John Krasinski) and, while Artie is certainly no picture of kingliness, Shrek is determined to drag him back to Far, Far Away to assume the throne. Mishaps and comedy abound, including a spell gone wrong that locks Donkey and Puss-in-Boots inside one another's bodies. While Fiona and the other Princesses prove they're anything but helpless women, Artie and Shrek battle their own fears of inadequacy in a struggle to discover their own self-worth. In the end, Shrek, Artie, and Fiona each learn a lot about their individual strengths and what truly makes each of them happy. Of course, it's the pervasive humour and wit that make iShrek 3/i so side-splittingly appealing. --iTami Horiuchi/i

| Customer Reviews: Content vs, Ignorance December 30, 2007 Breton 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I know I'm contradicting my own review heading but I couldn't help to comment on the two reviews here, both of which have absolutely nothing to do with the movie content and have everything to do with the fact that they couldn't read to or even notice that this is an HD DVD. Seriously you want to place blame on Amazon because you simply have no common sense? :-|
For the idiots out there January 11, 2008 J. Gordon (Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an HD DVD. It means it is not a DVD. It will not work on a DVD player because IT IS NOT A DVD!

br /The picture quality is amazing, if the story a little weak. Would normally give it 3 stars, but have upped it to 5 to try and counter those that think that this is a DVD.
"UGLY BUT CUTE" May 2, 2009 R. Wills (Cov,UK) Good old shrek and his princess wife return in this classic third sequal. As ever all the carecters are the same and kicking out the same kind of humour. The 3rd movie still holds the same if not more laughs than the original and the second film..So if you havnt already got a copy then go grab your self one..HD DVD is the best choice but blu-ray just as good..
Consequence for those previous reviewers December 30, 2007 keefnet (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Hi. I wouldn't have bothered with this but 1) the film is OK although not as dynamic and thoughtful as the first two, and 2) people that put 1 star on reviews just because they were stupid enough (yes, STUPID), not to understand that HD (High Derfinition) movies require a HD player.
br /I like to check out the reviews of movies before I buy them. When I saw 1 star with two reviews on here I had to check it out..... beware, STUPID people been here. Please don't use the rating system to highlight your lack of knowledge or reflect the dissapointment on your childrens faces when, come Christmas morning, they couldn't actually play the film. It's your fault, not the film content/quality. Check out Amazon.com for many more reviews on the actual film that do coment on the film... amazing, eh!
br /tut, tut, tut.
br /HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE (else!)
