Amazon.co.uk Review Accepting that by the time people get to season seven they tend to know the formula of I24/I inside out, the creative minds behind the show respond here by emptying out every cupboard to throw everything they can at you. The core of the show remains the adventures of Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, as he battles to save the world from yet another terrorist threat. With the action taking place in real time, we get 24 episodes set across a single day, and itrsquo;s one filled with twists, turns, action and surprise. That much wersquo;re expecting. p Surprise number one in I24 - Season 7/I though arrives within 20 minutes of the season starting, as the character of Tony Almeida seemingly returns from the dead. So whatrsquo;s happened? Has Tony turned? What kind of threat is brewing? Ah, itrsquo;s these and many questions that are resolved at the showrsquo;s usual breakneck pace. p I24 - Season 7/I also wisely gets on board a roster of enviable acting talent. Cherry Jones ably takes on the role of President Allison Taylor, while Jon Voight makes a suitably sneery Secretary Of Defense. Add in the likes of Kurtwood Smith, Bob Gunton, Janeane Garofalo and Tony Todd, and itrsquo;s an impressive roster who put a straight face on the occasionally silly narrative. p Season 7 does find I24/I inevitably lacking some of that original spark, and a few more ideas wouldnrsquo;t hurt it. But itrsquo;s still a confident season of arguably the best thriller currently on television. And, bluntly, therersquo;s nobody who does all this quite like Jack Bauer, even if the manrsquo;s best days may be behind him⦠--IJon Foster/I

Ridiculously addictive! June 14, 2009 fairdes (Brisbane, Australia) 47 out of 51 found this review helpful
I will start by saying I'm a massive fan, having watched every season of 24. However, after the extended break following the end of Season 6, I found myself a little uncertain as to whether I was interested in the new series. The pre-season episode, Redemption, was good without being brilliant so it would be fair to say I had my doubts about the show. But as each episode of Season 7 ticked over, and mind-blowing subplots emerged, I found myself absolutely hooked again. Some reviewers have criticised the lack of believability in this series. I'm sure there are plenty of holes if you want to look for them, but for me it comes down to the following crucial elements:
br /
br /1. Entertainment value
br /Season 7 never lets up from the get-go. It literally leaves you breathless at the end of each hour, yet desperately anxious for the next episode.
br /
br /2. Acting quality
br /Every character is played by a strong actor and they deliver consistently. I've never seen or heard of most of the new actors, but they are outstanding in their roles. I won't ruin the story for others but there is only one person I wasn't looking forward to seeing again but they were at least bearable.
br /
br /3. Emotional response
br /This is the first series since Season 2 when I have felt such a range of emotions. Rarely do you feel anything other than shock when main characters bite the dust. However, Season 7 has some genuine tear-inducing moments. This is due to the quality of actors and of course the great script. Which leads me to -
br /
br /4. Script quality
br /The writers have delivered a quality script for Season 7. There are some brilliant one-liners and some quality exchanges.
br /
br /All in all, one of the best 24 seasons ever. Arguably as good as Season 2.
Back to it's best! July 21, 2009 D. J. Parkin (Chester, UK) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
As I can see from this forum, there is a mixed response over Season 7 of 24. I find this quite surprising as I see this season, along with the fifth one, as the best in the show's history. After what I saw as a very poor Season 6 I was worried that 24 would become very stale and run out of ideas but I was blown away by the show's regeneration both in terms of characters but also narrative.
br /
br /Firstly, dismantling CTU was a good step as continuing with the Los Angeles-based office would have undoubtedly turned 24 into too much of a formula show, and as we saw from Season 6 they were beginning to exhaust all ideas for that particular setting (the return of Milo and installing Nadia as acting-CTU chief being strong examples). In Season 7, we see a completely new setting in Washington with Jack now working alongside the FBI. The season starts with Jack appearing before the Court charged with illegal use of torture before being pulled out by a very fresh and strong new character in FBI Agent Renee Walker who solicits Jack's help in tracking down the return of one of my favourite character's in the show's history...Tony Almeida.
br /
br /Yes, the person who you thought was killed in the fifth season. His comeback was another sign of the show's fresh ideas and strength, as the Almeida comeback was highly entertaining. We have a changed character, both in terms of appearance and personality, and his re-addition to the cast is a very very good one and only serves to strengthen the plot of the seventh season, particularly with all the twists and turns which his character put the audience through.
br /
br /The addition of President Allison Taylor is another show of strength from the 24 writers, following the somewhat implausible tenure of Wayne Palmer (temporarily) during the show's sixth season. Taylor's character is played well and she appears presidential, something which Wayne Palmer could not aspire to in the previous season. The addition of other new characters such as Larry Moss and Jonas Hodges (played by Jon Voight) are other factors which make this season so enjoyable.
br /
br /If, like me, you were left somewhat disollusioned after a disappointing sixth season, then despaire not, 24 just comes back better than ever!
Just buy this! September 12, 2009 Mr. M. T. Nippers (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'll get to the point, this series is the best tv on tv, it is brilliant. where lost and prison break lost their way a little bit 24 is just top quality series after series. But it you won't regret it.

Hello everybody, I just want to say that this is the best TV show ever made. The 24-Genre never gets boring. It will keep you entertained for a lifetime. And Kiefer Sutherland is a great actor, the whole show is casted excellent.

br /About Season 7:
br /
br /It could have been better, but it is a very good season. You see Tony getting all psycotic in the season finale. It is kindof weird that CTU is gone, but good thing that they are bringing it back in Season 8. Overall a very good season, but not the best.

br /I am very glad that this is coming out on Octobre 19th, because on Octobre 19th it's my birthday. I highly reccomend this to all of you. And have a good day.

I love 24, it is the best thing on TV. I still think the earlier series were better but it is still very good. I would recommend to anyone who loves 24
