Amazon.co.uk Comedy reigns throughout iLicense To Wed/i thanks to Robin Williams, his choir-boy assistant Josh Flitter (iNancy Drew/i) and the rest of the cast. Laughing out loud is definitely a course requirement for viewers, but underneath the hilarity is a serious message about making marriage work. --Tami Horiuchi

License for Laughter February 3, 2008 James Mccann (Spain) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Not really a Robin Williams fan so I was not expecting to much, but how wrong was I, the 5 star rating is well deserved and its a long time since I had tears rolling down my face, great from start to finish, and yes I would watch it again, well worth the money if you buy or rent.
Good movie for a night-in October 7, 2009 P. McLoughlin (Ireland) License to Wed is a good no-brainer movie with a talented cast and mediocre plot.
br /Likeable characters and perfect for mindless movie night-in.
Very average romantic comedy April 11, 2008 CJR (Spain) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I really like John Krasinski so I had hoped to love this. Unfortunately this film never quite hits the mark. Mandy Moore is quite irritating and I just can't imagine anyone ever getting themselves caught up in the story line. It's a shame because the potential is there but License to Wed just misses. On the plus side, John K. is gorgeous as ever and it's a bit of a treat for fans of The Office (An American Workplace) as there are cameos from a few of the cast. Pretty average stuff.
Not great April 9, 2008 jenny (cardiff, uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Storyline sounds like it's going to be a good one but somehow the film just doesn't live up to that. It wasn't particularly funny, I think I only laughed once and although there were some potentially interesting issues to be explored the actors couldn't manage to get the most out of it.
License to Criticise January 30, 2008 Matthew Wilson (Cumbria, UK) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I thought this film was brilliant in terms of the issues it dealt with, but it just wasn't very well thought out or funny. Mandy Moore makes this film watchable, because she is so hot! Otherwise, it just wasn't very good.
