Good movies May 20, 2008 Dr. A. L. Devereaux 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a great movie, with these three male stairs, how could it not be?
This is what it is. May 1, 2008 J. E. Parry (Pontypool, Wales) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
If you are expecting a big budget, high action, big effects movie then you should probably go and by something else. If you are wanting a high concept, highly convoluterd storyline with many subtle twists and turns then you should probably by something else.

br /If you are happy with an easy, uncomplicated "thriller" that makes a great Friday/Saturday Night Movie then this is for you.

br /Anything that has a star line-up of Jason, Wesley Ryan is not going to set the A list alight. This is a very creditable B movie - small budget, reasonably acted and unsubtle movie.

br /It begins with a shooting on a bridge, includes a very explosive bank robbery and ends with a slight twist. See it as an ordinary film and this is well worth watching. Statham is good as the cop brought back from suspension at the request of the robbers; Snipes is passable as the main villian and Phillipe is average as the young rookie cop.

underrated film, plot aint amazing but its good still, though snipes n statham make it good
A Intresting Thriller. July 29, 2009 Ms. J. F. Gilby (bexhill, uk) For a change, I rented this and watched it today with a open mind to be involved with the story. Starting with a hostage taking gone wrong, Detective Quentin Conners (Jason Statham)is suspended for his actions until one day he is visited by his old boss and newcomer Detective Shane Dekker (Ryan Phillippe) to sort out a bank robbery that's being held by Lornez (Wesley Snipes). When things go wrong again, Conners and Dekker are out to get Lornez though they will face deception and death during their violent journey. I thought this was a intresting thriller, it kept you going during it's running time and the shocking twist near the end is a good one. Yes, it's not a blockbuster or going to win any awards for it's low budget action and it's chessy script but it's worth watching for it's stars. Jason Statham is good in these sort of roles, hard nut and a face for action films for the future. Though he needs to sort out what kind of accent he needs (kind of American slash Cockney at the same time), he gives the goods for his role. Wesley Snipes was also good, though short but enough to be a really good bad guy. Ryan Phillippe was okay in his role, providing the charsmia and kick butt action skills like Statham but with more hair! It's a recommended movie to see but don't expect it to be a massive blockbuster, it's a low budget action thriller that makes you think.
Better than average but not wuite excellent August 24, 2009 A. J. Sturgess (North Yorkshire, UK) Statham forgoes the martial arts (mostly) in favour of playing a troubled but seemingly self-confident and hard-nosed police detective faced with a psychotic bank robber and murderer played by Wesley Snipes. But all is not as it seems - which is both the underpinning idea within Chaos theory and also the principle upon which the whole film is based. The hidden patterns don't coalesce into the reality of what actually IS happening until the final few scenes.

br /As a film, 'Chaos' fluctuates between action and dialogue, but personally I found that to be very effective. Films that are almost all action soon dull or overload the senses, whereas the changes in tempo and tension in 'Chaos' serve to lift you up, let you relax a little, and then hit you again.
br /
br /If you like films such as 'The Inside Man' or 'The Bank Job', then you are likely to enjoy this. It is certainly worth watching and although not quite worth five stars, it is certainly well worth four.
