I bought this DVD in good faith. I received what appears to be a domestically recorded DVD, with no menu, on a standard disc. The movie started immediately - no copyright warnings, distributors logo etc;, and looked like a straight DVD copy of a poor NTSC VHS recording of the film off-air. I returned the movie and complained to both Amazon and FACT some months ago. I have heard nothing from either organisation, yet this release still seems to be available. br / br /The legal issues surrounding this release arequestionable, in the least. This is a shame, because Guilty Conscience is a terrific movie, which keeps the viewer on a knife edge throughout, using eloquent dialogue and a sublimely elegant performance from Anthony Hopkins.

Like the previous reviewer, I was also very disappointed with the extremely poor quality of the recording. It seems that an already bad quality VHS recording has been simply copied over to DVD format, loosing further quality in the process. That's a real shame as the movie itself is really great. Excellent story, great actors and fantastic twists in the storyline. Had I known of the bad quality I would certainly not have bought this DVD.
