Amazon.co.uk Review It's hard not to feel like one has entered a certain dimension of video-game logic while watching iHitman/i, a lightly enjoyable action-suspense movie indeed based on a popular and bloody game about a mysterious hired gun with a bar-code tattoo on his bald head and a number (47) in lieu of a name. Living like a chaste monk while slipping past borders to kill his targets, 47 (Timothy Olyphant of iDeadwood/i) moves like a determined shark and speaks softly to his contact at the enigmatic "the Organization," which raises cast-off children to become well-paid assassins. Fruitlessly pursued by an Interpol cop (Dougray Scott) who can never get sovereign governments to cooperate, 47 has no trouble slipping in and out of countries to ply his trade. Until, that is, he's set up to take a fall in Russia by shooting a national leader who is promptly replaced by a lookalike double. Suddenly on the run, 47 has to retrace his steps and formulate a lethal plan for extricating himself from a trap. Caught in the chaos is the lovely Nika (Olga Kurylenko), forced into sex slavery by 47's new enemies and the one person who seems uniquely qualified to break through 47's many personal barriers. p/pDirected by France's Xavier Gens, iHitman/i features loads of bloody mayhem and unabashed moments of pulp absurdity, such as a scene in which 47 and three other Organization killers agree to fight one another respectfully, then proceed to pulverize each other with swords and fists. As fodder for gamers, however, iHitman/i is packed with visuals and dramatic moments that seem so odd on the big screen until one realizes they are basically placemarkers for the video-game edition. i--Tom Keogh, Amazon.com/i

HITMAN - BRILLIANT! January 4, 2008 Wheeler Dealer (Reading, UK) 19 out of 25 found this review helpful
I have to say... I was a little bit bullied into going to see this movie. I am a bit against game-movie things. I think it's a bit of a rip off to be honest.
br /Anyhow, I wasn't looking forward to seeing this and was pleasently suprised. Timothy Olyphant is amazing. He always has been, but this was his best performance yet.
br /A shortish movie, only around 90 mins, but it was brilliant throughout.
br /Very gripping, exciting and slick.
br /This movie has become one of my favourites, and I have been shocked at quite how much I enjoyed it.
br /Everyone has got to see this. It's amazing.
What a great surprise !!! March 5, 2008 A. Cresswell (london, UK) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
If like me, you tend to put film/computer game link up's under the heading 'Going to be crap' then this was an incredible surprise. I watched this in a hotel initially and was bored. I expected nothing good but it was GREAT !!! The acting from Timothy and everyone was 'pretty good', the story was 'pretty good', action...good, special effects....good and so it continued. eventually I realised ... here was a great movie. One I'd buy for my collection and stick on for a boys night with a beer or watch again with my son. Very nice action movie. No hesitation in recommending this at all. That's pretty rare for me.
I like it lots!!!!! April 21, 2008 eviledna (ENGLAND where else would I want to be?) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Well I'm a forty something mother of a Xbox360 fanatical son, who has and completed all of the Hitman games. I've watched him play them sometimes not my sort of game but what do I know. Anyway my son told me they'd made a film based on the games and he wanted to see it. Well I wasn't convinced it was going to be any good based on the Agent 47 I'd seen in the game and the actor who was playing him (I thought someone older would have looked more like the game character)but what a pleasent surprise. I thought he played him really well. The film overall was very good, a few continuity blips but nothing to get too excited about and a bit Matrix and Bourne Identity like in places. But saying that I'll watch it again and will be more than interested in seeing a sequal. PS. I was surprise it was only a 15 considering it was rather violent in places and the nudity, though all those teenage boys out there won't be complaining :)
Guns, Blood, Boobies = Fun Movie-Going Experience February 24, 2008 Reviewer 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Let's keep this short and sweet. If you enjoy the video games, you will more than likely enjoy the movie. It's very easy to follow, the acting can be downright terrible at times (but very solid from Olyphant who was a GREAT choice to play Agent 47), the special FX are loud and neat to look at, there's lots of explosive action-packed gun fights, and the hot chick gets naked. The only thing I have against the film was that it was a little dull and awkward in the beginning, but it picked up about 15 minutes in and kept it rollin' until the ending. Oh, and the hot chick gets naked.

br /You want to go to the movies and have a discussion afterwards? Go watch "Lions for Lambs." You want to go have a fun time at the movies with your friends? Check out "Hitman." Word on the street is there's lots of blood and explosions (and a hot naked chick).
Game Bad, Movie Good March 26, 2008 Mr. A. N. Kay (Clacton on Sea (UK)) 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
As you can no doubt guess im not a fan of the Hitman games, but got talked into watching this film and was very glad that I was. I read some of the other reviews and heard that old line the film was predictable of course it is kind of predictable its an action film. I suppose that make any of the Die hard films awaful aswell, cause we never would of guessed what would happen there:
br /
br /Answer no it doesnt this film was well made with a good story and a very enjoyable watch and is a def for my DVD collection and would recommend to anyone that like action films. Timothy Olyphant as Hitman 47 Is brilliant and play's the role so well that he would be the only person that could play the role for me now.
br /
br /I dont want to give any of the film away so I will end this by simple staement of fact if you like action films (I.e. Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Etc.) then you will enjoy this film but if your looking for more a Bridget Jones Diary then simply this film properly aint for you.
br /
br /Great Film, Great Acting, Great Speacial Effect, Good Story...
