Amazon.co.uk Review When three generations of women collide, it isn't always pretty. In iGeorgia Rule,/i Lindsay Lohan (iMean Girls/i) stars as Rachel, a wild child whose mother Lilly (Felicity Huffman, iDesperate Housewives/i) ships her off to Idaho to be tamed by Georgia (Jane Fonda, iOn Golden Pond/i)--Lilly's own cantankerous mom. There, 17-year-old Rachel shocks the conservative community with her short shorts, eager sexuality (which she plies on everyone from 12-year-old boys to unsophisticated, but hot, Mormon neighbours), and her tales of possible sexual abuse at the hands of her somewhat slimy stepfather (Cary Elwes, iThe Princess Bride/i). As directed by Garry Marshall (iBeaches, Pretty Woman/i), iGeorgia Rule/i is a flawed chick flick where the women are tolerable but not particularly likeable. The characters we want to know more about are the peripheral ones we don't see enough of--the men. Simon (Dermot Mulroney), the kindly (and sexy) veterinarian who was once madly in love with Lilly, in many ways is the film's moral compass. A widower whose wife and son died tragically in an accident, Simon would've made a more compelling movie subject than these women. And for all his latent pining for Lilly, the moviegoer feels relieved for him that dodged a bullet by not marrying into this dysfunctional family. While the female leads aren't quite believable as mother, daughter, and grandmother, they all have strong moments in the film that save it from being a groaning mess. While Lohan doesn't exhibit the charm she displayed in iMean Girls,/i she more than holds her own in parts with the scene-stealing Fonda, who is quite good at chewing up the scenery. --iJae-Ha Kim/i

| Customer Reviews: Fonda, Huffman and Lohan rule! April 24, 2008 P. Smith (Ruislip, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As a collector of Lindsay Lohan's movies I bought this after seeing the trailer on the Apple trailer site. I was expecting a quite heavy film but was surprised and delighted to find a very moving and dramatic film with great performances from all three leading ladies and a good strong supporting cast. The initial movie is three women from three generations of the same family who each have their own way of dealing with life. Lindsay is the daughter of Felicity, who in turn is Jane's daughter. The film is based around the learning curve which each generation can give the others. The real grit of the story is the shocking confession that Rachel (Lindsay) blurts out and which both Georgia (Jane Fonda) and Lily (Felicity Huffman) have to try and come to terms with. Just as they do Rachel then claims the statement was actually a lie and then it becomes a real twist and turn situation as both older women try to figure out whether the first statement was actually true or not.

br /A sad thing that the studio decided not to release this Lohan vehicle through the cinema (allegedly due to Lohan's personal situation) as it was very well made and gave three class actresses a really good opportunity to show their abilities. After so long as a Disney actress Lindsay Lohan gives a tour de force performance as Rachel and shows she has become an adult and an actress with more than the cutesy image that Disney seemed to demand of her (something which could no longer be denied during Herbie: Full Loaded). Both Fonda and Huffman give their all and this is a really powerful movie about life and the trappings of family values. With three new Lohan projects up and coming I sincerely hope she has exorcised her demons and can move forward and make more great movies like this.
Seriously under-rated film!!!! January 3, 2009 Hollstar (Oxford, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I don't understand why this film didn't do better, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I admit I bought it being a huge Lindsay Lohan fan, but all three leading actresses do a really good job. I really like this film, it's funny while also dealing with difficult issues like abuse and alcoholism. Buy this film, you won't regret it!
Excellent film! September 27, 2009 L. M. Robinson I thought this film was fantastic, it is funny but also sad in some parts.
br /It is worth watching!!!! The cast is amazing also.
Great Film April 30, 2008 Katrina-UK (Stockport, Cheshire, United Kingdom) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wasn't sure whether this film would be any good or not, but it was really good and thoroughly enjoyable to watch for a 'girls night in', rather than one for the fellas. Just buy it or rent it!, you won't regret it. A top quality cast acting wise (both lead and support).
