| Customer Reviews: Great movie shame about the blu-ray April 15, 2008 N. Moore (St Albans) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
i`d been waiting to see this movie having heard good things about it....i was not disappointed by the movie itself, which kept the spirit and wit of the original movies and brought them up to date. However entertainment in video`s claim this is FULL 1080 HD is not entirely honest, granted it shows in 1080i but the quality of the `high definition` is little above that of an upscaled DVD. Save your pennies and buy the dvd instead
FANTASTIC FUN!!! July 22, 2009 Mrs. D. Lee (Newtownards Co Down) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Got this movie for Christmas and have only just got around to watch it. What took me so long? This film is great. St Trinians is brought up to date and into the 21st Century. Sure, the plot line isn't all that deep, but it's juvenile antics from start to finish, with a fantastic soundtrack.

br /All the actors are perfectly cast, with the biggest surprise for me being Russell Brand, who is a super Flash Harry.

br /I agree with the reviewer that said the blue ray disc wasn't any better than upscaled ordinary dvd. For this it lost a star. But the film itself - I will be pulling this one out again and again when I want a laugh.

Mildly amusing first half then declines ... April 28, 2008 P. White (Cambridge, United Kingdom) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Firstly this IS a 1080 presentation: I can easily see the extra resolution on my 52" TV. However it's inconsistent leading me to think that the original master is also variable. The first half of the film is mildly amusing and has 3 or 4 moments of humour that work (much to my surprise) but this is badly let down by the second half. The latter is not awful just bland and insipid with no sparkle or wit. Surely sparkle and wit are the absolute requirement of the finale of a St Trinian's film? Rupert Everett is good and some of the girls try hard but mostly it's a second rate ITV comedy writ large(ish). Certainly not worth the money required to obtain this Blu-Ray version (much to my annoyance).
