One chat later, and the caller has dumped her fiancé (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and hersquo;s not too happy about it. To get her back, he engineers things so that hersquo;s married to her without her knowledge, and the rest of the blanks you can probably fill in yourself. p While the premise is forced and a little muddled, IThe Accidental Husband/I nonetheless entertains perfectly well, primarily due to the work of its cast. Thurman is in fine form here, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is certainly one to watch too. It was a wise move too to bring in Colin Firth to firm things up as Thurmanrsquo;s existing boyfriend. p IThe Accidental Husband/I never has pretensions about ripping up the romantic comedy formula, and as such contents itself with offering a perfectly amiable way to spend an hour and half. What really got me to see this was Uma Thurman. She shines in this as always, I'm a big Uma Thurman fan. Her performance is flawless as i've seen her do in previous movies i've seen in her in! In my opinion she's the best actress ever! Even if you don't enjoy the movie, she's really good and never dissapoints. I highly recommend this movie, her performance let alone drives the movie, makes it work. Now that's not to say that the other actors aren't as good. Honestly they're great, i've never seen Jeffrey Dean Morgan in a movie before but having said that I certainly will now from now on, he was great. Colin Firth was in top notch form as always but I felt that he wasn't really in it. This surprised me, I found that to be a minor flaw. Even the kid in it was v. good. All in all a great cast. The story wasn't complicated but it really worked well for this movie. It was subtle, v. moving, believable and v. entertaining! The humour was v. good too, had me laughing v. hard.
