Product Description
Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, Diane Lane, Jamie Bell, Rachel Bilson Director: Doug Liman

As preposterous action movies go, iJumper/i is pleasantly unpretentious and breezily entertaining. A young man named David (Hayden Christensen) discovers he has the power to teleport (or "jump") anywhere he can visualize. After using this power to steal and make a comfortable life for himself, he pursues the girl he longed for in school (Rachel Bilson, iThe O. C./i). But as he does so, another jumper (Jamie Bell, iBilly Elliot/i) and a pack of fanatical jumper-hunters called paladins (led by a white-haired Samuel L. Jackson) crashes into David's freewheeling life. Jumper wastes no time trying to explain how jumping works or delving into the hows and whys of the paladins; this is an alluring fantasy of power directed at a pell-mell pace by Doug Liman (iThe Bourne Identity/i, iMr. and Mrs. Smith/i, iGo/i). There's a brief moment when it feels like the movie will bog down in romance and vague gestures towards character development--happily, that's the moment when Bell appears and the whole movie shifts into overdrive. You might wish that Bell and Christensen had swapped roles; Bell has a far more engaging personality, and Christensen's bland good looks might better suit a more aggressive character. Nonetheless, iJumper/i has oodles of dynamism and nifty visual effects to propel its comic-book storyline forward. A variety of recognizable actors in bit parts (such as Diane Lane and Kristen Stewart, iPanic Room/i) suggest that the filmmakers are laying the groundwork for sequels. Based on a critically-acclaimed science-fiction novel by Steven Gould. i--Bret Fetzer, Amazon.com/i

The Blu-ray,br /br /Excellent picture quality sound! Very impressed. Cool cover art, plenty of special features, all of which are in HD! br /br /The Movie,br /br /A very unique superhero film, with an interesting story of a boy who learns that he has the power of teleportation and the benefits that come with it (and later the drawbacks). Lots of future potential! Now excuse me while I go buy the books!

4 out of 5 stars Not too Wooley...   June 20, 2008

The concept behind the movie is very good in that someone is able to transport themselves from one place to another nearly instantaneously, which also means in and out of vaults in various banks. The effects used to do this were well presented, although having lived in Egypt and having been to the Sphinx and seeing how the 'Antiquities' police are, our hero wouldn't have had much time to have done any sunbathing before being told to move on (or gestured, which was the usual trick)... br / br /The end I thought was a little anti-climatic and at the end you sort of thought "ahh, that's the end then". No real lead up to it, but I guess it does leave to door open for a sequel.

4 out of 5 stars Jumper is a great fun film that looks awesome on Blu-ray!   May 27, 2009
Dragonlord (Cornwall)
I really enjoyed watching Hayden Christiansen as Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars films episodes II and III. Hayden is very good in Jumper too teleporting all over the world whilst being hunted down by Samuel L. Jackson and his goons. Jamie Bell who starred in Billy Elliot is another Jumper and he gives the film some humour and a bit of class. Jumper is a fun fast paced action ride of a film that should appeal to most people that like their Si-Fi and the Blu-ray transfar is top notch
