Impressive Climax November 10, 2009

'Five Fingers' is an espionage mystery thriller, which had a limited theatrical release in the USA in 2006 and a direct to DVD release in the UK in 2007. In both releases the movie went unnoticed. br / br /The movie tells the story of a Dutch pianist (Ryan Phillipe) who is kidnapped in Morroco by terrorists. The terrorists then attempt to obtain important information from him. br / br /The movie has an intriguing start that creates sufficient suspense and ends with a shocking twist, which deserves an applause. The downfall is that the movie leaves too many unanswered questions throughout the movie and after the climax, which was unexpected but abrupt. Coming to the title of the movie, I'll let you guess (if you don't know already) what relevance it has to the movie. br / br /The performances of the lead actors, Laurence Fishburne (also one of the producers) and Ryan Phillipe were convincing and engaging. The direction provided by Laurence Malkin is average as it is not pollished and sometimes erratic. The production values are consistent with a low budget. br / br /The movie is let down by the loose-ends, however is salvaged to an extent by the interesting premise and the ending. br / br /'Five Fingers' is a fair suspense thriller, which deserves a watch via renting or TV. br / br /Recomended for fans who love a final twist ending. br / br /
