5 out of 5 stars Swords, Sandals and Sex...   August 20, 2008

Not sure how to describe this genre spanning film; Action? Adventure? Comedy? What I do know if from beginning to end this film is a riot. Who cares that Hayden Christensen and Mischa Barton are two of the most rotten actors in history, they look great together! Tim Roth turns up as the obligatory bad guy and there is also a very funny scene stealing moment from David Walliams. The closest film to this (very unique) offering is Rob Reiner's The Princess Bride. If you love good old fashioned fun (and let's face it, not much of that around) then this is for you. br /

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful film...   September 1, 2008

Virgin Territory was a highly funny refreshing sexual film, in today fear of sexuality and expressing of true erotic love it was refreshing to see a film that didn't shy away from it. A truly entertaining film I strongly recommend it!

4 out of 5 stars Much better than I thought!   July 9, 2008

Before I saw this film I didn't really give it much of a chance, but after seeing it I was actually very impressed. The cast do a fantastic job, the script is brilliantly written and I love how modern music is over-laid into what is essentially a period comedy. The priest played by Craig Parkinson, was fantastic and Mischa Barton's British accent holds up remarkably well for the most part. br /I'd really recommend this film. Its light hearted and somewhat predictable, but there is something about it that you can't help but laugh out loud sometimes. Definitely don't watch it with kids around though as the Nuns in it aren't as virtuous as they should be.

4 out of 5 stars A Bawdy Bit Of Fun   September 23, 2009

Virgin Terriroty is a film which definitely doesn't take itself too seriously, and so as long as you aren't looking for a classic period drama you shouldn't be disappointed. br / br /Set in 14th century Florence it plays off a group of young ladies who must retain their virtue to achieve a good marriage against their suitors who are just as desparate. Throw in the bad guy (Tim Roth) who wants to force the heroine (Mischa Barton) into marraige, sex crazed nuns, some kidnapping into slavery and some swordfighting to round out the action. br / br /All the actors look like they had a lot of fun making the film and this shows in the comedy that plays throughout the film. A fun hour and a half.

4 out of 5 stars Like 'A Knights Tale'?...You'll love this!   February 26, 2009
Mr. C. J. Jarvis (Warwickshire,UK)
A truly fun period comedy film;beautifully shot, beautiful sets, costumes and people. Excellent script and the fact that the film is based on a classic medievel Italian story (which incidentally was bannished by the vatican as 'lewd' and 'debauched', which to my mind works in its favour!)only serves to make the film a must-see. Watch out for a couple of hilarious cameo appearances too! Great old-fashioned romp guaranteed to put a smile on your face! A truly European film, rich and decadent and a bloody good laugh....how refreshing!
