Amazon.co.uk Review
Truncated to a slim 11 episodes as a result of the writers' strike that was ongoing in America during its production, IHeroes/I' second season nonetheless packs enough in to keep the momentum rolling on one of the most exciting Stateside shows of the moment. p IHeroes/I is, at heart, the comic book tale of a varied group of people, each with special powers that they struggle to come to terms with. With such powers, of course, come troubling foes and situations to face, and that proves to be the case here. So this time, we pick up four months after the events of the first series, and there's the small matter of the Shanti virus to contend with. This provides the main thrust for the series' story arc, and allows room for several interesting sub-plots to develop too. p Yet while, in the world of IHeroes/I, you suspect that this second series will never rank with the best, there's easily enough here to justify the asking price, and the show emerges easily with its reputation intact. Even when it's not at the top of its game, IHeroes/I is exciting, interesting and polished entertainment. --IJon Foster/I

5 out of 5 stars PURE CLASS   May 21, 2008

Heroes is an absolutley fantastic and unique show. the whole take and storyline of 'super heroes' is brilliant. the first series was just amazing. br /Series 2 is excellent considering the circumstances. Sure, we could digress about the extra characters not being developed enough, or that we didn't see enough of some of the originals. Unfortunately that was out of the creators hands due to the high profile writers strike. Heroes along with many other shows have been affected by this, which in turn has caused the writers having to come up with as much creativity as possible in shortening already developed storylines. That taken into consideration, they shouldn't be penalised for having to condense what they had. OK, this would have been better if is was 20-24 episodes long - giving more character development for the new, and more screen time for the established. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, so PLEASE DON'T MISS OUT beacuase of that. It is still highly entertaining, and a must for every heroes fan. Well done for getting this out under the cricumstances, and I'm looking forward to the third series. Don't miss out just because of industry issues - a MUST for Heroes fans.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best shows on TV   July 31, 2008

This second season of the brilliant Heroes TV show was sadly curtailed by the writers strike and the first half was widely slated by both critics and fans but personally I feel it is just as good as season one. I would admit that this season is not without its problems; Peters' amnesia plot is terribly clichéd, many of the new characters aren't terribly interesting or well acted (especially anyone with an `Irish' accent), and Hiro probably stayed in the past slightly too long. These are all little things however and they are far outweighed by the brilliant and involving writing and competent performances by most of the main cast. br / br /Although it does go on for a bit too long, one of the highlights of the season for me has to be Hiro's adventures in feudal Japan. Despite the plot of this part of the season being somewhat predictable, it is nonetheless a greatly interesting and well made story. It is also a shame that season was cut short as it was definitely hitting its stride during the latter episodes of season two. Overall despite a few missed steps, season two is a great season that is definitely better watched on DVD rather than weekly. Heroes easily remains one of best shows on television at present.

although slower in pace it is still a great show and i respect what it is trying to accomplish this year(with the strikes and all)...some new characters are entertaining while Maya is actually quite annoying. br /i have only seen the first seven eppies(to date)so i can't review the season as a whole BUT from what i have seen it is heading in the right direction...shame Ali Larter (Niki/Jessica)has been lacking in scenes as she is an interesting character...i still love Hiro and Matt is turning into a great character...Claire is also a very down to earth person whom people can still relate to and Noah Bennett remains unpredictable(is he bad or good?)...just want to know where they're going with Peters character and where the show is going in the future. br /going to pre-order soon

Having seen all this series, all I can say is that Heroes is a must buy. More twists then before and it leaves us questioning what will happen in series three. br /The season is based on more characters and has alot to offer those who are Heroes fans. Don't listen to the poor ratings as this season is a cracker.

After having read some of the negative reviews I was reluctant to buy this series so I rented it.This is Science Fiction of the highest order,an intricate web of a tale woven around personal agendas and the possible futures the success or failure of these agendas will create. Who are the heroes and who are the villains? I have been reading Marvel Comics mutant books for many years and this is the story I wanted to see. Cannot wait for season 3.
