4 out of 5 stars Very funny   October 20, 2008

I thought it was pretty funny,of course a bit ridiculous(monster for ex) but it is meant to be this way. The actors are good, the storyline too. br /Not as good as Severance or Shaun of the dead but definitely recommended if you want some gory fun!

4 out of 5 stars Gore And Gags Make A Real Odd Movie.   February 13, 2009

I found this in a rental store and it sounded good from the back cover, though the front shows it's going to be gory and supposed to be funny like Shaun Of The Dead (great movie!) Me and my mum watched it last night, totally shocked of what we were seeing. It had a plot, a young man must go to Russia to collect a rare cross for his boss only to find that the lift has broken down, people with him are hostages and stuck on a floor that screams werid. Then things go bad to worse as a nasty serial killer starts to get them and one of the group is not all they seem. What follows is gags, gore, a wild ride to a good ending. My mum found totally funny, especially someone who farted and never said who did it. I thought it was the most oddest and insane film I have seen for a long time, it won awards and had rave reviews as well. Though it must have been on a budget, it has some known names like Sean Pertwee(the man who more or less dies in movies and I'm not spoiling if he does or not!), Stephen Dorff who was a bit of alright and Jaime Murray from Hustle fame. It's recommended if you loved Shaun Of The Dead and to turn your brain off for a hour and a half.

3 out of 5 stars What on earth did I just watch?   November 14, 2008

br /I just finished watching it, and have come to the conclusion that Botched has to be one of the craziest films ever! How the likes of Stephen Dorff and Sean Pertwee ever got involved I really don't know. br / br /It tells the story of an unfortunate thief, Stephen Dorff, who is told by his powerful gangster boss, Sean Pertwee, to try and steal a rare and priceless cross from an enormous Russian skyscraper -after horribly failing his previous 'mission'. You guessed it: Events take a turn for the worst when he, and a group of others, somehow get trapped on the 21st floor with the weirdest killer imaginable! br / br /Even though the film goes completely off-the-rails in parts, and it suffers from a severe lack of budget and acting talent, there are a few good jokes thrown in, and there's enough blood and guts to satisfy the gore-hound in all of us! Worth a look for those who haven't yet seen Severance or Shaun Of The Dead, but for those who have- I wouldn't bother with this one. br /

2 out of 5 stars Not as expected.   October 5, 2008

This is my first review on Amazon most likely my only. I felt compelled to warn people before purchasing this film. I bought this essentially on impulse after seeing it in the 'customers who bought this also bought:' section on here. The box art looked slick, the film having won awards and two positive quotes on the frontcover sold me on it. I was left disappointed. I was under the impression this was a horror-comedy but with only two actually funny parts in it and no scares im not convinced. With unlikable characters, a boring plot and a stupid choice of 'monster' i completely regret buying this film. Save your money or buy Severence, Feast or The cottage instead.

1 out of 5 stars Not funny, not scary   February 12, 2009

A mess of a film with no budget, style or script. Even for a DTV production this looks terrible. Inept on every technical level and dull, dull, dull.
